This is a songfic I wrote after listening to my favorite song. It's kinda sappy, but who cares, right?
*Even theough the moment passed me by I still can't turn away*
Bulma opened the door to the bedroom quietly. When it was open wide enough, she peeked inside. Vegeta was soundly asleep. She could rarely catch him sleeping. He usually was up before her, training. He was such a terror when he was awake, she'd forgotten how docile he could actually be sometimes.
*I saw the dreams you never thought you'd lose Tossed along the way*
As she watched his chest expand and collapse as a result of his breathing, she thought her life over.
*Letters that you never meant to send Lost and thrown away*
Her life had really began when she met Goku. It was hard to imagine what life would be like if they hadn't went on that quest to find the dragonballs. It would have been so..bland. Besides, she never would have met Vegeta.
*Now we're grown up orphans that never knew their names We don't belong to no one that's a shame*
He needed her, this she knew. He may act all tough on the outside, but she knew, only her, how fragile he was on the inside.
*And you could hide beside me Maybe for awhile And I won't tell no one your name No I won't tell 'em your name
Vegeta sat up in bed. He'd had another nightmare.
*Scars are souvenirs you never lose The past is never far*
"Freiza," he whispered, panting. He couldn't believe he still had the nightmares. It had been years since Kakarott had killed Frieza. He was dead. But still...
*Did you lose yourself somewhere out there? Did you get to be a star?*
No, I didn't. But at least things were better. His life was so much better. I've sure changed, he thought, chuckling to himself. And Bulma. He loved her. He'd never really told her so, but he loved her and Trunks.
*Don't it make you sad to know that life Is more than who we are?*
He'd discovered hope, what it meant to be free. What it meant to love and be loved. When he was with Frieza, his life had been a living nightmare, now it was just a dream.
*You grew up way too fast So now there's nothing to believe And reruns all become our history A tired song keeps playing on a tired radio And I won't tell no one your name
No, I won't tell 'em your name*
Bulma opened the door and stepped into the room. Vegeta looked up at her. She'd thought he would leave, but he didn't. He didn't want to disturb the calm. Bulma came over and climbed into bed beside him. They stared at each other for a moment before Vegeta leaned over and gave Bulma a kiss filled with sweetness. "Ai Shiteru".
*I think about you all the time But I don't need the same If it's lonely where you are Come back down And I won't tell "em your name*
