Adventures of the Think-O Ship

Chapter 1

Printer-Friendly version

Teacher asks where we're going to play
When we go outside to recess today.
I tell her, "Me, Amy, Rebecca, and Kip
Are going to play in our Think-O Ship!"
It truly is a wondrous invention
For people who don't much like paying attention
To lessons of History, Math and the like.
They'd much rather sail through the skies like a kite,
Or dive in the seas, and swim with the fish,
Or ask a great genie to grant them a wish!
For people like us, the adventurous souls,
The Think-O Ship's more valuable than gold.
It's banged, scarred, and scraped from our various trips
Through the galaxy with other kids' Think-O Ships,
And that one time we traveled inside a volcano
Left a huge blotchy splotch, like a great red tomato.
Where to today? we wonder aloud.
Should we float in the air? Stick our head through a cloud?
Or board an old pirate ship and find hidden treasure?
(We'll bring a few dollars, though, just for good measure.)
Oh, some kids like drawing or playing piano,
Or eating their paste, or singing soprano.
But there's nothing on earth that we find quite so hip
As playing at recess in our Think-O Ship!
