Letting My Hair Down

Posted May 24, 2005, 5:14:07 PM UTC
An anime me! I colored my hair for the first time in forever the other day (L'oreal Terrestrial Brown, a bit darker than my usual shade) and felt like my little schoolmarm self got all pretty. So I drew this pic. I got the pose from a manga illustration of my alter-ego, Yomiko Readman.
Drawn completely on PSP 9. Took about 3 hours.

    That's cause alot of it is up to you with how you do it. You looked like you wanted solid black lines in this thouhg, so I thought I'd point it out. This can also be done with selecting the white area you wish to colour, but you may get an anti alias look if it isn't a pure black and white pic (sorry- antialias is the slight blend between colours that stop the sharp change between lineart to your colouring.) My suggestion is to make a seperate layer (if you have a programme to do this!) for your b+w (make sure its pure black and white by contrasting it) and colouring on a layer below it. That's how I colour. One black layer, and 20 other layers of colours and highlights XD I'm such a layer freak ^^;

    Ohhh- point for digetal colouring hon- make a new layer on the top for the black lines and do all the colouring on the layer below- that way you don't lose your solid black lines. They'll fuzz up again when you shrink the image Smile
