A Loving Embrace

I did this as a birthday present for my niece. She told me I should post it, so I did. I love the color in it.

This is absolutely beautiful!! Oh, by the way, you're welcome when I posted the hot dogs pic. I'll probably work on another one later!! I remember this episode, so touching. The coloring and the shading is so beautiful.

I have the ani-manga of this episode and that's where I got the idea to draw this one. It was from a very touching scene that I loved because we finally got to see a tiny spark between Inuyasha and Kagome. Thank you so much for the compliments. I didn't know what kind of reviews I would get from this one, but, I'm pleased to say that they have all been good. I am a huge fan of your work and can't wait to see more of it.

I love how Inuyasha is so...Not himself in this picture. I've seen this episode before (or was it from the movie?) and I think you've captured it just perfectly!

It was from the "Go back to your own time, Kagome" episode. It's from the part where he's trying to protect her from being killed by demons by tearing the necklace with the Jewel Shards from around her neck and pushing her down the well. It's one of my favorite scenes where we finally get to see some sort of intimate contact between these two. Which is why Kagome looks surprised. I thank you for the kind words. I did this as a birthday present for my niece, Alyssa. I know she liked it and she thought you guys would too. She made me put it up here. I'm glad to see that it's getting such positive feed-back.

Wow, thank you so much. It's refreshing to hear that this picture is so well-liked. I don't know if you've ever watched Inuyasha before, but this scene is from one of my favorite episodes. Kagome(the girl) is surprised because Inuyasha giving her a hug is so out of character for him. (She secretly is in love with Inuyasha.)

Nope, i haven't ever watched Inuyasha, 'cuz it's pretty hard to find anime in Finland (well, by all means correct me if somebody knows a good place for anime in Finland), except Neon Genesis Evangelion and few movies (Ghost in the Shell, Vampire Hunter D, Akira, Wonderful Days, Wolf Brigade...)

At least you have some good ones there. (Wow! Finland? Really?) I'm making all kinds of friends all around the world. I love the internet. *smiles* I watched Vampire Hunter D for the first time last year and I loved it. I think the most beautiful anime movie I've ever seen is Escaflowne. It has the most beautiful animation I have ever seen. Maybe you should start a revolt for Inuyasha. Tell them, "Give me Inyasha or burn in hell!" No, just kidding. They should definately have Inuyasha over there. They don't air it in England either. Weird. Inuyasha is like air. I can't live without air and I can't live without Inuyasha. *laughs*

Well, now i'm searching for Neon Genesis Evangelion movies (there is two of them) BUT d*mn they're hard to find!

In my opinion, Vampire Hunter D is the best movie i've ever seen! Big Smile Oh, and one question about Inuyasha, is it a series or a movie?
            • Jun 6, 2005, 8:44:45 AM UTC
Actually, it's both. It first started out as a series, but, as with every great series, they made movies out of it. They just released the fourth one in Japan. We Americans are still waiting for the third one. (Comes out in September.) It is the best series I have ever seen. I also like Pretear and fruits Basket.

I like how you handled the poses and the drapery. It seems like the girl is surprised. Was this intended?
    • May 30, 2005, 8:38:11 AM UTC
It was most definately intended for her to look surprised. *First a little back ground on the scene* Kagome (the girl) finds herself falling in love with the rough-around-the-edges Inuyasha. She tries to deny it to herself, but knows she's hooked on him. Throughtout the whole series, we see them start to fall for each other but neither one wants to admit it. This scene depicts the very first embrace between the two. Inuyasha pulls Kagome into a strong embrace because he's worried about her and doesn't want her to get hurt from all of the demons he fights. (He tries to cover this act up in a later scene by ripping the necklace containing what's called Jewel Shards off of her neck and pushing her down the well to go back to her own time.) To make a long story short, it's the first time in the series that we get to see the "softer side" of Inuyasha and this sudden change in him shocks Kagome. Whew! There. Hope that clears things up a bit. I'm glad you liked this picture. This was the first one I've ever done depicting any physical contact between characters.
