Vegeta Smiling

This one is for you Sliverbane! Sliverbane requested I do a drawing of Vegeta smiling but not smirking, as if he was smiling at Bulma. I don't know if you like this though. This was my first time using Painter. I sketched it out on paper, scanned it, then started painting with oils in Painter. I didn't hold back on the color at all. I don't know if I like it or not. I think some areas could use more refinement but.. ah. I guess I like it. I'm glad I experimented though. Painter is a really fun program. I recommend getting it.

Thanks Ally McBeal. Welcome to BogusRed.net! I'm sort of surprised to see you here. I love your art. I'm glad you decided to join. Did you have enough of Deviant Art?

Wow...yes. That's great. When I stare at it I can see the moment as it happens. A gentle smile erupting from his normally fixed scowl. Nice! I can also see him quickly hide behind his scowl should somone look his way. This is really wonderful. Great job with Painter.

I love the style it looks like you painted it, but I'm not a big fan of Vegeta's face, If i did try to draw him normal I woul.d still make his eyes sharper and darker with thicker lashes, but that's just my opinion, you have your own style. I'm, still working on one! But still a great job, I love the colors

Aah, another good pic of Vegeta. This is very well done. I especially like the way you did the background.

Wow, this is really grabbing. It's so different to see Vegeta portrayed this way, but it looks amazing. I think you did great with the oil effect, and the colors really make it kind of soft and emotional. Great job!!

This is GORGEOUS! I have been waiting to see what you would come up with next. It looks like you did have fun doing this picture and you spared no expense with the color. Once again, you have used those earthy-tones beautifully and created a beautiful painting of everyone's favorite grumpy saiyan. Excellent work! ^_^

thanks although he's certainly not grumpy in this picture ^.^

I don't know....I really like how his eyes are drawn. I think you've totally captured the "all for Buruma" look. And I think the colors and the style used go just perfectly with the intended emotion. The program is called Painter?
    • Jun 17, 2005, 9:58:09 AM UTC
Yes, it's by Corel. It's the only program closest to traditional media out there.

Veggie smiling... It's hard to believe... I agree with EBS that "All the different colors you used look neat", it makes him more sentimental than in the DBZ ( What? )

Although I wouldn't want to do this, but IF I could do such image, i'd raise his eyebrows little higher... It is (of course) my opinion... Embarrassed
    • Jun 16, 2005, 11:26:53 PM UTC
Yeah you might be right. Actually I'd probably make his eyes and eyebrows a little bigger instead of moving them up. But maybe moving just the eyebrows up might give him more of a sweeter look. Yeah you are right.

I wish I knew how to use painter, I had it but something happened to it. This is extremily good!!!! He is sooo alive!

This is really cool Bogusred! I love it! That painter program must be really neat...it looks like a real oil painting. All the different colors you used look neat. I love the expression you gave him. Excelent job! Smile

really? I wasn't sure if people would like my choice of colors. Thanx. Corky Smile
