Strange Comfort

From the end of Chapter 20 of Tales from the House of the Moon, by Resmiranda.

In the story, Sesshoumaru and Kagome are on a quest and spend the night in a cave in the wintery mountains. Kagome rests her head on Sesshoumaru's shoulder and he just sits there, trying to look as bored as possible (his usual well-practised face).
The actual scene took place in pitch blackness, so I made it when Kagome is about to wake up - the morning light is illuminating the cave.

This is a pencil drawing, from start to finish. It took a very long time.
