Writing for those of you who are curious (Embarrassing... These are basically diary entries to me):
"Memories are everywhere, and in everything. The desk in the corner, the table you eat at, the knives and the forks you use to eat at that table... Your favourite stuffed bear, a song you may have heard a little too often on the radio. In twenty years I'll look at these things and because of my past and that connection, they will once again mean something to me. How odd, that a simple thing such as time could make such a difference in how we see things. It's the product of two things: wisdom and memory. A longing for the past that we can no longer indulge in. Why do we close ourselves off so readily? I can't begin to imagine returning to a life in which my parents were together - my mother a housewife, my father a grumpy old carpenter... I have to think hard to remember a life in highschool, even though that was no more than two years ago... Things change so rapidly that I can barely keep track of what is going on in the present time. My mind is overflowing and exhausted now, I think perhaps it needs a rest. Perhaps I shall think randomly at a later time..."
This one is my favorite out of your self portrait line. The shading and position you're in are so comfortable and lax, but your eyes are so powerful. I'm gonna' end up having every one of your pictures in my fav's area, you know that? Awesome work, yet again.
Yes... Tough years definitely show in self-portraits. I don't thik I was having a bad day when I drew this, but I WAS having a bad year. lol. You are far too kind, karana, it makes me all giggly and blushy...
These self portraits of your are truly a treat both visualy and mentally. You have such great expressions on your face. I love it! This gives me a great idea for a drawing involving my shading if you don't mind me using your checker pattern idea.
Your submission is posted to our site but it hasn't yet been added to an Art RPG queue for point counting, approval, and/or reward redemption. Submit it to the queue to get your rewards.
