Dragon War

Posted Nov 1, 2007, 7:47:40 PM

This is the mural I painted recently on my bedroom wall, there are other parts of it on the other walls, but I couldn't get it all in with one photo.
I got some inspiration from an artist on DeviantArt,
But the work was done by me.

Pencil, Arcyliced.

While there are many things I could say about this, I think what I like the most is how you handled the lighting.
You have wonderful shadows, and brilliant light from the fire. The light on the wings really catches my attention, how dramatic the shifts are between the outer edges and the centers where the flame reaches.
Also, the molten lighting on the dragon's torso is quite well done, and definitely captures that gleaming look!
    Wonderful details...
I saw the newest one on the front page, also... you have quite the knack for these paintings!

      Thank you.
      I wish I painted more often but I don't.
There's nothing I yet dislike about it except that everyone insists that the biggest dragon is wearing a bra.
Fine, it's a big evil FEMALE dragon.
      I really appreciate the comments.
