Alexandra West - sketch

A new original character, Alexandra West and her male Red-Sided Eclectus Dakota. Ales is a genius when it comes to computers, math and symbology, and uses mathematics to work out symbols and symbology. She sees a mathematical pattern in everything, and there is a mathematical pattern to everything... Fibonacci, anyone? :D She studies symbols and hacks codes and signals as a hobby in her free time. She would be considered a hacker. And...she also happens to be a Transformers fancharacter. She's the driver/friend of another Transformers fancharacter of mine... ^_^; Hawkeye. He's a marksman and close friend to Bumblebee.(!!!!) Hawkeye's alternate mode is a red 2008/9 Corvette, which is, I believe, the sister car--in this case, brother car--to the Camaro. So in their robot modes they look pretty similar, but with notable differences... I'm going to stop rambling now. Color coming soon. Enjoy Alex and Dakota. Alex © ME, Image © MEMEMEMEmeme, References used, found on Google

It's a lovely picture hon ^^ Having that parrot clinging to your arm has gotta be a bit sore, but it is a nice picture. Would be nice if it had some contrasts in it Smile Even some soft ones Yes

A parrot clinging to your arm doesn't hurt unless their claws are reeeeally sharp... What kind of contrasts? Big Smile

Sorry- I thought it was staying as a sketch ^^; I meant contrasts to pop certain things out. I should've thought about that more though cause I didn't know you planned on finishing it Smile Yeah- I was thinking shadows and dark areas for focusing. The colour version has all that though ^^ Ignore me Smile

I do need some pointers on the color test, though. What should I change, if anything? Heart

Sorry I took so long to reply- I'm getting slow lately XD too many difficult questions to answer XD

Colours aren't really my thing- that's easy to tell with my horrible colour choice in PseudoDragon (comic) Giggle I'd do better with critiquing the final picture, cause I know more about colour weight, heat and stuff. I'll try though...

I can only assume the parrot is accurate- it looks accurate in colour, but I've never had one so I don't know. The girl's base skin tone colour looks washed out in comparison to the white. IF you made the background a light tan, or a slightly purple colour to pop her out a little she wouldn't blend in with the background. Either that, or give her more skin tone. IT's a little difficult to visualise when you do it if you know the person is a light skin tone, but her skin in this is closer to a porcelain tone- just for a tone comparison (the scanner may have killed the colour if it was hand done)
Is she wearing eye shadow? The tones above her eyes look out of place- too brown. I suggest a light pink colour for her nails too- the deep red colour also washes her skin tone out.

The black on her jacket is excellent, and the blue compliments well. Her hair is an odd colour, but all of this is cause either the skin is too washed out, or the background is washing it out. One of those needs a colour to warm the picture out.

Other than that... Um... Can't help out too much ^^; Sorry bout that...

The eclectus is perfectly accurate; male Red-Sided Eclectus are that brilliant emerald green, bright blue on the 'shoulders' which are actually the 'thumbs' and 'wrists' when the wings are open, ruby red on the sides underneath the wings and on the 'arm' part of the underside of the wings, sapphire blue on the flight feathers and tail, a little yellow on the tail, the reddish-brown eyes, bright orange upper mandible and black lower mandible. The females are on a completely different color spectrum. The females are predominantly red and blue with bits of yellow on the tail. The females beaks are all black, too, upper and lower mandibles. It's shocking to see a male and female Red-Sided Eclectus sitting side-by-side because your first thought is they might be completely different species, but no. Male and female of the SAME species. It's a 'holy crap' moment, lol.

She is wearing eyeshadow; orange and green, XD. She is fair complected, but she also tans in the summer, unlike me and I'm also fair complected. Her hair color is my hair color, as well...but I don't tan in summer. I burn...horribly, lol. But seeing as this is just a color test with flat base colors and simple shading and highlighting, the finished image will have more depth and a background. I submitted the color test for critiques and help on selecting some colors. Her hair color, eye color and skin tone are set, but I wasn't sure what to do about everything else--exluding Dakota the parrot, he's perfect. Big Smile I don't know how to color her shirt, nails or makeup. I may give the jacket details when I ink it so I can give the jacket depth rather than the flat black, but I don't know. Anymore help would be very much appreciated! Heart!!

This is so gorgeous. The soft, clean lines you used really let the characters stand out; and the detail in Alexandra's hair is amazing. You know what? Favorite That's what! Laughing
