Sirin Portrait

So, my cat Thor nearly got neutered again because of this drawing. I was just finishing up the last part of the hat when he came running through my room like a bat out of hell and did a flying leap onto my desk. Seven pound cat running and jumping at full speed vs. a drawing. Needless to say, Thor won. He landed on it and slid it right into the wall. Luckily, the drawing part was spared (aside from one barely visible scratch,) but the rest of the paper was so wrinkled that I had to perform a little surgery. I had to cut it out and glue it to another piece of cardstock.

Anyway, this is a portrait of my character Sirin, the half-elf, half-witch from one of the fantasy stories I'm writing (it's meant to be silly and totally cliche.) This started out as a sketch on an oekaki board that I decided to not color digitally. I have to say, colored pencils and crayons are sooo much fun. Tedious, but fun. I think altogether this took me anywhere from 8 to 10 hours to color, which is why Thor nearly got neutered again.
