Shatter Colored

To say the least, my scanner is brutal and ate the color of this picture. His scales are showing up as the wrong color, his pants look strange, and don't even get me started on how his wings look... You win some, you lose some I guess. Though his skin and hair still appear perfectly fine to me, as far as I can tell. But seeing how this came out, it definitely tells me that I'm going to need a better scanner if it turns lines so dark extremely faint against the page, and even putting the levels all the way up won't do to revive those lose ones. Meh.

Still. These are going to be his colors! And yes, he is still blue. I can't seem to work any other colors for his skin or tail, etc. so I'm sticking with that. Though the pack of colored pencils I have doesn't seem to believe in a light or sky blue.

The scales on his tail are a bit of a "bright" purple-y color. I used this strange shade of purple-ish pink, then covered it with regular purple, and went over it all with dark blue to get this awesome color effect. It was shiny and pretty, but not blinding like you normally get from shiny things. I also used the effect on his headband, but both seem to have been made darker. And yes, believe it or not, his clothing is actually purple. Reds didn't go, yellows were an immediate no, I hated the shades of green I could have possibly used, and browns were simply out. Definitely not pink or anythin' like that, so I used one of my favorite colors. See a theme?

Hee~ I'm in an extremely good mood today. Guess that is what happens when you realize you've done something completely on the mark and right with your own self? Some of you will understand that, others may not.
