A horse! *gasp* A horse with terrible anatomy. XD;;;
I had some odd and end bristol pieces laying about and figured, why not try my hand at some equine art? So viola, here it is. A lovely black stallion with a rugged and wild mane streaked with accents of brown. I was going for an Arabian, but the nose isn't upturned enough, so we'll just say he's an Arab-cross. Mmmhmmm~ Still, I love how it came out, especially the texture of the mane. Yaaaay!

    He's still very pretty even if he isn't "purebred". He reminds me of how much I loved the movie Black Stallion as a kid, thank you for bringing back those good memories Smile

      Thanks and you are welcome~
      Purebred or no, I love any horse. <3 They're just beautiful beautiful creatures~

    Actually, the build reminds me a lot of Welsh Ponies. To get a more Arab look I'd dish the face slightly from brow to nostrils and thin the neck out a lot.

    That said the textures on this are incredibly fun and wonderful.

      Thank you~
      And thank you for the tip! Equine anatomy is very very poor when I do it, and getting the different look in build is so hard. But I'll remember the tip to get an Arabian face. Big Smile Thank you again~!

    I'm not too worried about the anatomy, because the fantastic textures you put into this work really outweigh any of the anatomy flaws in it. This is a lovely horse with a lot of personality - his eye alone gives a sense of depth that is captivating. I love the fantastic highlights on his mane and body, as well as on the sand in the desert behind him, and the richly contrasting colors make this work just come to life. Beautiful work! Thumbs Up

      Thank you!
      That's one of the reasons the horse was black too. XD;;; I did a LOT of earsing, and some of the marks wouldn't come out! Hate it when that happens. So I loved black horses to start with and then the desert and the earse marks sealed his color fate lol. xD

        LOL! Isn't that funny how that just happens with art sometimes? XD I love it when a potential "fatal flaw" ends up making the art better than ever. Big Smile
