My 2nd piece of fanart- I got ambitious. Arrgghhh those wings! Actually I this is a colored piece off of a much bigger drawing I did, but I'm not good enough to do the background I want yet. Actually I wanted a deep muted burgundy background for this little piece but the program gave me the choice of this or brown(its an old program with a lot of bugs-recommendations for a good program would be appreciated!)

Tactics is my favorite manga but this scene of Haruka & Kanarou is not from the manga, my inspiration was a painting of Icarus.

You may not like those wings but I'm loving them. Makes me want to make a pair of midnight blue wings ...which is a problem as I don't have any midnight blue feathers *whimper*.

Thanks! Yeah, I luv the look of wings but half way through coloring them I think I must have lost my mind-

*snicker* That's why I cheat using the brushtips - I'd go nuts myself... I've also used Fuzz brush on a separate layer to color in spots too. I don' t mind losing my mind - it's a short trip for me!

wish I had a program with that stuff- I'm saving my pennies to buy one as we speak (my current one is a second hand antique with some annoying little bugs in it)

I use Paint Shop Pro and I bought it while I was still in college so it wasn't too bad of a price through www.AcademicSuperstore.com. I think it was just under $100 which is a deal compared to $200-$400 for Photoshop. I like PSP better myself since I can do the same things as Photoshop can and even make the same brushtips if I find some I like but aren't in PSP format. If you are a student, parent of a student, teacher, or have a student in your family it's a good site to go to. Hopefully you can get a new program soon. If you get PSP I can help you get all kinds of brushtips or help you learn some of the tricks to it if you want Smile

Thanks! Unfortunately I think it will be a while as I had to do a major car repair & need to fix part of my roof, so it' s not as high on my priority list as I'd like. I'm going to check out the site - sounds really interesting!

*wince* I feel your pain, I've got to do both of those myself and we can't afford to do either for a quite a while. Good thing is that site has been around for a long time so it'll still be there when you get a chance to get it Smile
