Modern Hermes

Finally finished it  ^_^  Took waaaaay too long.

Hermes was the greek god of theives, merchants, and messengers.  So one day I got to thinking, "If Hermes was still worshipped, what would he be god of today?"  Then I realized..... the internet!  Illegal downloading, online shopping, and e-mail all make the world wide web perfect for a modern Hermes.

I love it! Both the concept and the picture. He's the perfect god for the internet.

This piece is just wonderful. I love your concept of juxtaposing ancient gods in modern times, and this painting is brilliantly done. Congrats!

      Thanks Smile

I was inspired by all those people who do modern-day fairy tales. Why not mythology also? Wink

Awesome work Yes I really like the folds in his shirt and the lighting. All your hard work paid off this looks great!

XD I can totally see Hermes as the God of the internet. Seriously, it was pretty much made for him Bounce
