Mother and Child_Alligators

After this was on display at my school's local art show, it was evident that a lot of people liked this painting.  Don't know why, since alligators aren't really my favorite animals at all, and I think that the bottom jaw could been extended out more, but it was admired nonetheless.
I think this is the only acception to my animal nuturing theme. If I'm not mistaken, these are the only reptiles that actually care for their young. The mothers can carry them on their back when swimming from one place to another, and even protect all of their babies in their mouth AT ONCE! Pretty interesting, no?

Materials: acrylics and watercolors

The full size version is quite large, you may want to downsize that. I can understand why it was admired, it's a good piece of work. The alligator's skin texture was done well, overall nice job!
