"I should have been here.."

Started from an idea I had concerning the time around my character Shyl's birth.  Ociron (left) lost his wife when Shyl was born, so it was a dark and yet beautiful day for him.  Tulka (right) was supposed to have been the one to deliver Shyl, but Palendra had sent him away to help another woman who was having difficult labor with her twins.  Well, Tulka saved that woman and her twins, but Palendra died in childbirth.  As a True Healer, Tulka could have saved her, so he felt horribly guilty.  Ociron wasnt just his King, but his friend, so he offered his comfort to him.

this was the start of a rather unique relationship between Tulka and his King.

I am very pleased with how this came out (though I hate hands and backgrounds) so I wanted to post it here.  sketched first and inked and shaded with marker.
