Woo, yay. I decided I'd upload this to give you all a basic idea of how my manga pages start.
See, I sketch them out, and on that sketched paper I add what I think they should be saying, yadayada.
Then I scan it into the computer.
Then I open it in Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Then I open up a new document and create a new layer titled 'Lineart', which is on top of the 'background' layer.
Then I clone the sketched panels onto the 'background' layer and arrange them as I want them to look.
Then I go to the lineart layer and, with a one-pixel paintbrush, line over the sketched drawings.
Then, I go to the 'background' layer and erase the sketches.
Then I make another layer on top of the 'lineart' layer, labelled 'shadows'. I shade everything on that layer.
And the rest is pretty straight forward. I add the text first so I know where I want it to go, and I leave each piece of text as its own layer and place the white speech boxes on the background layer. Yep.
Anywho, woot. :D
