Demon Party

Featured here are three of my five favorite japanesse demons.
All these particular characters and their personalities are my designs. I love my demon people..  And they all have names!

First up; Jou [useless] the umbrella demon.
Kasa Obake, or Karakasa, are a type of Tsukumogami [type of Japanese Spirit; objects that reach 100 years]
In particular, Kasa Obake are Spirits of Parasols. They are  portrayed with one eye, a long tongue protruding from an open mouth, and a single foot, generally wearing a geta. I don't like the foot thing so always go with the preatier, more realistic option of the shaft being flexible.

Next, in left to right order, Niku[second clause] and Boubi[preaty people] the paper lanterns.
Chochinobake, again, a type of Tsukumogami. They are created from the chochin lantern, made of bamboo and either paper or silk. Portrayed with one eye, and a long tongue protruding from an open mouth. This time I kept preaty faithful to the traditional image, omiting only the actual eye, not the socket, and the freaky hair. I also gave them the ability to move their mouths.

And last but certainly not least, Koodorinebi[beautiful dancing music] the pickpocket ghost!
A Dodomeki. Not much information can be found about these interesting creatures.. All I know is that their arms are covered in eyes. I decided to omit the face-eyes as that gave her a creepier air.

Not shown is Gekimon[drama gate] the racoon-dog.
Named after the Shibaimon-dan tanuki legend shown in Requiem from the Darkness. Geki means the same thing as Shibai. Anyhow.. We all know about takuki thanks to Isao Takahata's Pon Poko.

And Madoisou[painful joy] the smoke spirit.
An enenra is a yokai, or monster,  comprised of smoke. It lives in bonfires and takes the form of a human. It is said to only be seen by the pure of heart.
