Corel Practice Painting

Posted Jun 17, 2009, 12:34:22 AM UTC

I discovered the burn and dodge feature XD never really got to creative with it before because I reuined more pic's than I can count by using it. This pic is just practice with different brushes so I know there are a lot of flaws and I know where. I was just messing around with this picture to see what the brushes where like when I changed the opacity and stuff and I learned that the opacity in corel isn't as good as PhotoShop but I still like to use it anyway ^_^

I used a hair styles magazine for reference of the womans face since I wanted to do a cuter small face ^_^

Careful with dodge- I've started to use it again for sharp highlights, btu they change the colour unpredictably. It's good for an easy highlight and heating up something Smile

I like how her nose turned out ^^

I can't master dodge but I like how unusual it can be. I think this will be the last picture I use it in.

Thank you ^_^ I am really glad to hear it <3

I use dodge in small amounts to give highlight impact in high gloss items like water, cause it's more dynamic. Don't kick it, cause it's useful for that atleast ^^
