Okay I know this is bad quality and actually only a portion of the picture however my scanner COMPLETELY butchered it. I think it was the paper's texture... anywho... This is an oc of mine, obviously Turian for those Mass Effect players out there... Took me a while but... eh...

Very nicely done, if I do say so myself. I think the only butchering the scanner really did was make your whites grey, but you know? People here aren't going to see the original so dont apologize for it.

The shading is really quite nice -- well gradiated and soft. The facial features are really interesting too (Im not familiar with Mass Effect so colour me ignorant) that they must have been a pain to make look right.

    Anyways great job!

Wow... Thank you! That's certainly not what I expected xD Actually when I first scanned it, it was so light and YELLOW I don't know how that happened but this is after improving it considerably with Gimp. But what you say is true I guess I'd just never thought of it that way.
Thank you again, I actually had the help of a smudge stick (amazing little device) on the shading. Just look up Turians on google and you'll see a few examples if you wish to compare it. And yes... they were lol luckily you can't see all the mistakes I made.

This is by far one of the best reviews I've received! Thank you very much.

It's -yellow- on your screen? It's /green/ on mine! ha! And like I said it's pretty good, I mean the only thing I could realy bother to harp on (seeing that I dont anatomy for these guys) are your blacks aren't black enough, but whatevs. Liek you said, scanner butchered it 'parently.

Lol! Whatever, I guess I'm color blind haha Yeah, if I'd made it any darker it woulda smeared because it'd have been charcoal. But I know what you mean, I wanted it darker. And yes... yes it did

Well, what I meant was that you can adjust the light and dark values with photoshop -- make your white actually white and black actually black. There's two ways that Im aware of; one usign the histrogram and the other is the 'levels'. For levels is ctrl+L and I find that a lot easier to use than say ... the histrogram thing. Just something to keep in mind next time when you want to clean up a sketch. And if you want, you can also change the image from RGB to greyscale, adn that gets rid of any colour.

Yeah I know, I use Gimp actually but I adjusted it as much as I could without losing some important detail or making it look worse. And then I just got impatient xD I may fix it more later but for now I'm... tired of dealing with it lol

Im not familiar with Gimp, I'm afriad. I use photoshop for everything I do.

I used to be a photoshop user but I didn't have it on my new computer, so I downloaded GIMP 2.6 which is a free downloadable program. It's very much like photoshop, almost identical but I seem to have more patience with it.
