Comment:
This is my Design for Illustration project that we've been working on for a month now. Of course, my month consisted of not working on it hardly at all because shit happens, but whatever.

The goal of the project was to use a natural system, like branching, explosion patterns, fractals, etc. I really really really love the branching effect that watercolor gives on certain paper so I went with that. I did at least ten sheets of studies on different kinds of paper to get the effects that I wanted. After that I took them all into Photoshop and arranged them around. Now, we were not allowed to have a subject matter at the beginning of the project. The teacher wanted the project to become something on its own, which most of ours did. Mine turned into some kind of bizzare mossy forest when I was originally aiming for something oceanic. Once we got to that stage, Tam (my teacher) told us to add in a figure or something to show scale in the image. I decided that Hejran and the Moss Lion would be perfect for it. So I threw them in and finished this all up today here in the Mac Lab.

Its hard to see my textures, sadly, but I think there's enough mix of digital and traditional that it all comes together nicely. All in all, I'm pretty happy with how this has turned out. There's a ton of errors I'm sure, but with this thing being due on Wednesday, I don't think I've got enough time to fix it with all the other work I've got to do. @ n @ Bah.
