Bianca - OC of luna-dimidiata

Posted Mar 20, 2011, 1:22:35 PM

Commission of the wonderful JVCA  for the CNZ Christchurch auction, the original character Bianca belongs to Luna-Dimidiata. Was only meant to do the line art but I loved how it turned out, so decided to see if I can do a quick 35 minutes colour exercise.

Turned out I can't.

Let's just say it took far, far longer than the 35 minutes I planned for.

The line art are done traditionally with Copic multiliner. The colouring is done in SAI.

Credits for where it's due:

Oh haha hi! I'm not dead, I just had been in this horrible state of slump lately and I just can't bring myself to give a flying rat's ass for drawing. I know, not proud of myself. Mostly sitting around Tumblr and Twitter nowadays.

      So how's the Suzie?

Actually, knowing that you're alive is a really cool thing right now considering how close to the earthquake you are in Dunedin. You could've visited Christchurch that day- I was a LITTLE worried... What kind of art slump? No ideas sort? Or ideas but can't draw?

I recently went in for surgery, so healing, but I'm a lot stronger today than I have been for a long while Smile It's really good. I'm having writers block right now though. Trying to write a comic for Doujin in July. I need it written by the end of the month to draw it in time >.< I've also gotten into copics :) Just investing in some sketch markers. They're so awesome :3

    Is this hand drawing?

      What do you mean? Smile

If you are asking if it's drawn with traditional media - only the line arts are. The colouring are done with SAI, digitally.

If you are asking if it's drawn with pens and tablets with minimal "other methods", yes. I'm too useless at digital art to do anything otherwise - however the texture was not hand drawn.
