Criticism is encouraged :) Especially if you have any advice on the flower, it really doesn't seem to blend in to the rest of the picture.

    Until I really looked at it, I thought the flower was like a hat on her head. A little highlighting would help, or else more anthropomorphism to make it more clearly her dance partner?

    I liked the treatment of the floor -- colors and texture -- until I realized it didn't look like a flat surface at all.

    I agree with anticia about the arm behind the skirt.

    And I also agree that the painting is beautiful.

    Ohh, really pretty colours and effect with the lighting, it turned out beautiful!
    I have no problem with the flower. i wonder what is this about, do you have a concpet, story behind this? o.o

    My only issue would be anatomy, especially her legs, they seem off. And the arm, it's not right that it is behind the skirt, the skirt is round, not flat, I don't think it could be behind the skirt.

    But all in all I find it to be a really capturing, decorative and enchanting piece. I really admoire what you did with colours and lights. All is so well-done. Love the patterns, textures, the beam effects and the reflective lights - all is just perfect!
    I wish I could be able to do this well with painting. ;n;

      Oooh man you're totally right about the arm, I don't know how I didn't see that! Thank you Smile And yeah, I struggled with the legs, because I watched a number of ballet videos and their legs seem to bend in ways that it seems like they just... shouldn't. =P Maybe I will tweak it more.

      Thanks for the comment and the critique!

        You're welcome, glad you appreciate :3
        Haha, don't have to explain, I've seen once a male belly-dancer who was like a snake, seriously, it was almost creepy but fascinating at the same time. o__O
        And no, the angle and the bend seems okay, it is more like the hip part, how to explain...that I think the leg should start lower maybe, it seems that she doesn't have enough "mass" of her hip, not on the sides but down where the legs join. To check that you can look up anatomy reference charts...
        Uh I was trying to look up but it seems everybody is into that false "8/8.5 heads" version, it was impossible to find the real "7.5 heads" one but here: http://www.idrawdigital.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/prop_var.gif
        I think it is a good one. Corky Smile
        Btw now I checked and the hip mass seems approximately okay. So maybe it just SEEMS like because where the skirt ends is where the hip would end too and that confuse the eyes at time.
        I can think of sth to do, but I think I talked too much already. ^^'
