SuperMommy

Posted Nov 14, 2005, 9:20:30 PM UTC

Okay people, this is Super Mommy, and she needs help, LOL. Please take in mind the fact that she is the first thing I've drawn in longer than I'm willing to admit that isn't a stick figure to keep my Cruzito happy. I've gotten the urge to draw for my own pleasure again since finding this site and this is my first attempt. The Master Plan will be to have her cape and sword (sticking out of the frying pan) faded so that they look kinda ghosty when I get around to coloring this. I'm not too sure if I want babyboy's face to be looking out at some imagned moster, pressed against mommy's leg, or looking up at her worshipfully. what do ya'll think??? Mommy is supposed to be a little chunky but I think she looks too dudely and I'm not sure how to do the hands. Please give me some advice but PLEASE don't diss me too bad or I'll be tramatized for life :cries:  I humbly request the most wise teachings of the masters as I am not even a qualified grasshopper

AAAAHHHHH!!!! I'M HAVING TROUBLE FORCING MYSELF TO HIT SUBMIT!!!!

I think it's very cute!Smile One thing I think you should maybe round the thigh area where the kid holds on it and the other side too just a bit. There are too much lines in that are. I think you should make a clear line.
But still well done! Thumbs Up

I shall obey wise master, LOL. I'm just about ready to redraw my happy family onto nice paper and get them off the notebook junk so I'm most glad that got pointed out before I did, I really don't want a bunch of eraser marks to fight with while I'm coloring Grin

Awwww! My little MoonDemon is not only a talented writer but a talented artist as well! I'm very impressed. I have no advice to give since I can't draw to save my life, but I love the picture. I think the kiddo's face should be pressed against the thigh, it'd be very cute that way. I wonder if you curve her sides a bit and kind of aim for more of an hour-glass figure it that will get rid of the chunkiness that your overactive imagination believes is there but really isn't. Bravo SuperMommy!

Grin She's supposed to look chunky but what I'm worried about is she looks more like she has a dude's bod with NORKS (Just learned that word from the forums, isn't it a hoot Laughing ) I think I'm getting it how I mean for it to look, I'll post the new version as soon as I change a few more things. I haven't drawn anything except stick figures for my Cruzito in 4-ever so I'm not expecting this one to look exactly as it does in my head, just close, LOL. THANKS for checking this out Embarrassed Heart

I still think its wonderful. And she certainly doesn't look like a dude with norks. That is a fun word, I wonder if I can work it into a story....

Well, young grasshopper...let me think of what knowledge I can bestow upon you. First of all, I think the young one's face should be looking up at Super Mommy adoringly. Because after all, we ARE our kids' heroes. ^_^ Secondly, hands are something you have to keep practicing. Believe me, I know. I have a couple of poses I have done on some of my girls in the Red Curtain with their hands on their hips if you want to look at them for reference. Most of the folds you'll get in the fabric of the cape when you do your shading. Just rmember to make darker lines for where the fold will be and then shade accordingly to that. I also have a pretty good fabric pattern on my Minotaur picture if you'd like to look at that. As for her body, I think she looks pretty good. Her body structure looks awesome. She looks more "real" that way. Just keep playing with it and have fun. All my love. Mwah! ^_^

*kneels, bows, grovels* Thank u wise master Grin I'm gonna check those out right now while I can. I'll be scarce for the next two weeks cause my house is going to be invaded by lunitic family members Laughing
      • Nov 14, 2005, 4:42:41 PM UTC
Oh No! Not the dreaded lunatic family members! Are they going to hurt you? If they do, I will kick them in their shins. (Mostly because that is as far as I can kick. I am only 5 foot 3.) Anyway, you are most welcome for my knowledge. (teeheehee. I like saying that. ^_^) May the force be with you.

HAHA, you've got my mom and g-ma covered their 5'2 and 5'0, but I think we'll need to use stratagey for the others. I fear for my kids lives, they haven't seen the boys since the youngest was born last year in sept. LOL
          • Nov 14, 2005, 4:51:11 PM UTC
Oh goodness. Be prepared to rub the red cheekies of them. Poor little guys. I wish you the best of luck and a safe and happy recovery and may your feast be plentiful, and whatever other plesantries you can think of to add here. All my love.
            • Nov 14, 2005, 4:57:21 PM UTC
*sniffle* my poor boys, even I have a hard time resisting their chubby cheecks and I'm with them 24/7, LOL.

Do you mind if I copy your pics to my puter so I can zoom in on the hands???
              • Nov 14, 2005, 5:28:08 PM UTC
No problem hun. whatever will work best for you. All my love. ^_^

*KISSES* and now the confession, I started taking the pics I want to look at more closely right after I sent the request Embarrassed but only because I was sure u wouldn't mind, LOL.

Laughing Now doesn't it feel better to have gotten that off of your chest? Laughing Well that is fine. I surely don't mind. Anything I can do to help hun. ^_^

A good thing to keep in mind about hands is that your hand can fit over your face(pretty funny huh?) so if the hands in the picture seem to small for the face they most likely are. Have the cape a little less floofled out and thin it up alittle. If you were trying to get a wind blowing effect to it have the hair blowing with it too. Other than that I think the concept is really cute and is Babyboy kinda like a sidekid 'cause that's a pretty clever idea. Keep it up I hope to see the finished pic. Hope my advice helped alittle.Big Smile
    • Nov 14, 2005, 4:25:35 PM UTC
Cool, didn't know that about the hands, thanx. If I do what I intend to correctly, you'll see why the cape is going to fan out. Basicly the pair are just a normal mom and child but the super part is going to be how the kid sees his mommy. That's why I'm not sure how to put the kid's face, I'm thinking maybe to get that across I need him to be looking at her. It looks great in my head but we'll see once I actually get it how I want it to look before I color it, LOL.
      • Nov 14, 2005, 7:30:10 PM UTC
Yeah, it would definately enhance that feeling of how the kid sees his mom if you drew the child looking at the mom rather than having him cling to her side. It just makes them seem like a super duo if he's by her side.

This look slovely dear. Big Smile If I would have anything to say, it would be to make it so the symbol of the "S" Was curved in a bit under the breasts to make it look like the shirt is slightly tilted. Hmmm... the hand on her hip seems just a tad bit too small, but that can be easily fixed. Grin The little boy looks awesome, his pose is great!! But he has no face!! Poor thing. Laughing Try to think out the cape a bit too, so that it doesn't seem so stiff. And then it will look flawless!!!

You really should post more of your work, you are a great artist!! I send me Kudos to you!!
    • Nov 14, 2005, 2:37:49 PM UTC
Embarrassed thank you for the compliment!!! babyboy doesn't have a face because I'm not sure if just how I want it as I said in the discription. Once I take in some more tips (like what you said about the hand and S shirt, LOL) I'm going to redraw them and try to color them in on the puter. OMG, I'm neversous just thinking about that, LOL. Anyway I put the cape in for a refrence to myself cause it's how the kid sees his mom I'll get it looking better, I hope, in the finished product. THANKYOU SOOOOO MUCH for the critiquey-thingy, LOL.
