Dante and Vergil (revised)

Posted Nov 16, 2005, 1:08:14 AM

Woot! Okay.... FINALLY I have gotten around to revising this. I had alot in it that I wanted to change. I still am not sure if that statue behind Dante looks right, but it looks better, if I do say so myself. Also I have gotten rid of that ghastly skull/snake statue (I don't know what I was thinking of by putting that in there :P ) and now have added a little gargoyle statue in its place.  I tried also to darken up the sky a bit more to make Dante and Vergil pop back into place in the foreground.  Let me know if you guys think this is any better okay? All my love. ^_^

all I can say is Worship
    • Nov 16, 2005
I am being worshipped? O.O! Thank you thank you thank you! Mwah, mwah! But, alas, I cannot take all of the credit for myself as my trusty pencils did most of the drawing. It was a long and tedious journey. And we lost a few along the way. But after our tearful goodbyes to our fallen comrades, we knew there was work to be done. With a new hope, we trudged on and were finally able to cast that accursed ring into the fires of Mount Doom. No wait a minute.... that was Frodo. Ponder Anywhoo, my pencils and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind worshipping. OKay, well pencils don't really have hearts. But if they did, I know they would thank you from the bottom of them. I think I need less coffee in my diet... Sick All my love. mwah! ^_^
      • Nov 16, 2005
LESS COFFEE????!!!!!! NEVER SPEAK, TYPE, OR THINK THOSE WORDS AGAIN!! For shame on you!! Grin

You and your pencils are most worthy of the worshiping, You have the word of Cristy on that. Frodo's got nothin on you Worship Heart *bows, grovels & sings praises to you and your pencils*
        • Nov 16, 2005
heheh... you make me feel special. Smile And my pencils thank you as well. I am sorry I had to utter (type) those ghastly words. I don't know what came over me. I am not in my right mind, you see. It was all the pencil work that has fried my mind. Not to mention that these 2 are so very hot. Nothing makes sense when you look at them. I promise it will never happen again. We shall worship the coffee as a lesser God. Yeah, that sounds good. All my love. ^_^

Ah, Arigato. Thank you so much my little Nut. I am so happy that it is getting some love. I worked really really hard on this background. And know what? I couldn't have done it without your constant love and support and encouragement. Not to mention your wonderfully brilliant ideas. You helped me so much. So if there is anything I can ever do for you, just let me know. 'Kay? Kay. Thanks for always believing in me. All my love to you. Mwah, Mwah, Mwah! ^_^ I am so happy right now. *giggles*

Yes this is awesome ..The back ground came out great...Like the light on the swords ..But the clouds look a little rushed..
    • Nov 15, 2005
Hah! See Chas? I DID listen to you about the light on the swords. ^_^ See? I did! Heehee. And thank you for always being honest with me and helping me with my art. If I didn't listen to you, I would be crazy. But yes, the clouds didn't turn out the way I wanted them to. And that was the main part of the background that I was afraid to do. >_< Any pointers on how to fix them? I also want to fix that little pillar that has the snake/skull on it. It looks a little "off" to me. But I will do that tomorrow. Let me know if you have any advice on the clouds. Bestow upon me your knowledge oh wise one. Laughing Well, I didn't figure it would hurt. Much love. ^_^
  • Nov 15, 2005
Oh! This is so cool Lady Anime! The shading is great. Just a few spots like the blackened area near the castle door and the castle window could maybe be darker and/or smoothed a little more. I really like the stone work on the castle. The whole thing is just great! Wonderful job! Big Smile
    • Nov 15, 2005
Damn... you're right. I do need to smooth those out. Actually just darken them a bit more. I have something else to fix on it as well, but I am going to wait until tomorrow to do that. For now I am going to go and relax and get my hands working again. I think my fingers are numb from holding that dang pencil for the past 2 days. Laughing Such is the life of one who draws. Ah well. Thank you so very much for the wonderful review. I am so excited that everyone is liking this picture. Woot! I feel like dancing! Tongue All my love. Mwah! ^_^
  • Nov 15, 2005

    • Nov 15, 2005
Heheh. Thank you so very much. I really appreciate all of the ideas you gave me. You guys helped me out so much. I have a couple of things to fix on it yet, but overall, I am so happy with it. Especially since it is pretty much done for the most part. Whew! I am going to go relax now. Thank you so much again. Much love. ^_^
      • Nov 15, 2005
No prob I'm always happy to give advice. You can always ask again if you need more. Big Smile
  • Nov 15, 2005
OOOOOH! *gawks at background* its trully awesome. I think that a background is of a great importance to any picture.!
    • Nov 15, 2005
Oh the background is definitely important which is why I have actually decided to start doing them. I usually get so lazy. >_< But I am glad that it turned out okay. I am pretty proud except for a couple of tiny things here and there. Thank you so much for the kind review. All my love. ^_^
  • Nov 15, 2005
OOO, i love that game...im pretty good at it too...i had to fav. that cause i think u did an awesome job on it Big Smile
    • Nov 15, 2005
Aww, thank you so very much for the kind words and the fave. Smile I love this game too. It is my favorite of all time. So I had to do this little tribute to Dante. It was a must.Laughing And Vergil is definitely hot. Thank you once again. Much love. ^_^
  • Nov 15, 2005
backgrounds almost always take me longer than the characters in a drawing. THis looks SO good, darling! You've improved in great big leaps and bounds since I first came to this site - it's hard to fathom your progress in the last few months. we are so very proud of you!
    All my luv and squozes,

Well believe me hun, I wouldn't be lying when I say that I couldn't have had the motivation to get to this point if it wasn't for you and your constant encouragement of me. You always stick by my side and help me with anything you can as far as improving my skills goes and I couldn't be more grateful to you if I tried. If I had the knowledge and the ability, I would build you a statue in your honor. But, alas, I do not know how to erect. Heehee Thought you would enjoy that. ^^ So instead I will offer you my undying love and gratitude for all you have done for me and all you continue to do for me. Thank you for being my muse. And my best friend. Oh and my husband. ;) All my love forever and always to you. *Big huggles*
      • Nov 16, 2005
*giggle* I know how to erect, but I can't do it on my own. mwehehehe!

You know I"ll always be here. But I'm not the only one that's been helping you. ;) This whole community makes us strive to do our best, no?

OK. Mushiness over. Love you too, talk to you soon. *smoochies*

        Mr. Butmer
        • Nov 16, 2005
*giggles too* You make me laugh. Smile It is always good to have a hot construction worker to help us with our erections. What everyone? We're talking about building things. Sheesh, and I thought I had a dirty mind. Heehee. And yes, I do have so many wonderful people that help me. I am very fortunate. I truly love you all. Smoochies. All my love. Mrs. Switch Butmer
          • Nov 16, 2005
They're only usually hot in the summer, too, when they're working in the sun... yeah.... Innocent
            • Nov 17, 2005
Oh yes. I know. They must be hot then. And they have to take their shirts off. Oh the humanity. <--- Said sarcastically. I love you my dear. ^_^ I hope everything is going well with you. Smoochies and huggles to you. mwah!
  • Nov 15, 2005
Well done. looks good. I can see you put alot of work in it.
    • Nov 15, 2005
Oh god... you have no idea how much work has gone into this. Laughing I think my hand is about ready to fall off. Heheh my daughter has the chicken pox as well, so I have been juggling in this drawing whenever I get a chance. A mommy's work is never done. Smile I am glad that you like it and that you can see just how much effort I have put into making this one look good. It means alot to have my work really appreciated. Thanks again. Much love. ^_^
      • Nov 15, 2005
No it is never done LOL

Looking forward to you next project LOL
  • Nov 15, 2005
Holy crap (i hope i don't get in trouble for saying crap, its not really a curse word is it? I have the mouth of a sailor) This is incredible!!!
    • Nov 16, 2005
*giggles* No hun, I don't think you'll get in trouble for saying crap. Smile I am so glad that you like it. I love it when people like my drawings. (I think the word "DUH" would fit perfectly here. >_< I am such an airhead sometimes. Laughing ) Thank you so very much for your kind review. It means so much to me. Much love. ^_^
  • Nov 16, 2005
DAMN! Its awesome Kristy, wow. I cant say anything im speechless, i think you did an incredible work on this piece, definitely my favorite! The caracters are proportionally ok and the background gives a real dangerous feeling, matching the emotions of the two guys! Great great job!
    • Nov 16, 2005
Aww. Thank you so very much Lili. Smile I absolutely love these 2 guys.(Vergil the most.) I had a really hard time deciding on what to put in the background, so I got alot of help from some other members. I am so glad that this turned out looking as awesome as it does. Definitely my most involved piece of work. Thank you so so much for such a great positive review. You always know just what to say to me to make me smile. And that is very encouraging. All my love. Mwah! ^_^
      • Nov 21, 2005
Smile Im like you Kristy, ever since i've started coming to this site its incredible how i improved. I always said that i couldn't create and since i come here i cant stop doing my own art. All the members are so incredible with advices and tips that help us improve our drawing skill! Mwah to you and again great work.
        • Nov 21, 2005
Oh I agree with you 100%. That is why I love our community here. We have such a helpful warm community that we can't really find anywhere else. And I am very grateful to everyone that helps me out. Whether it be with my art or my emotional disturbances. Laughing Anyway, I love you Lili. And be proud of yourself and your progress. You deserve it. ^_^
          • Nov 27, 2005
sigh, thanks a lot Kristy! (you made my eyes water). You seem to have this huge capacity to give love and positivity, i respect you a lot for that. Smile Much love to you!
  • Nov 16, 2005
WOOOOT! OMG I love this...the background made my mouth drop! I sware this is soooo cool! Hun this is so awesome they are neat and the shading is right on! I loves! Thanks for the ...umm Thanks LOL Mwha! Favorite
    • Nov 16, 2005
Yay! I am so happy that you like it hun. Man my cheeks hurt from smiling. Everyone has been so nice and helpful to me on this one. It is such an awesome feeling. Smile But anyhow, the background took me longer to do than the characters did. That skelestatue alone took about an hour to shade properly. I need to fix the clouds, but I can do that another time. Right now I am being lazy. Thank you so very much for all of your encouragement all the time. I really don't know where I would be without you guys. You always hold me up. Okay... enough mushy stuff. You know I love ya. ;) I give you all my love. Mwah! ^_^
      • Nov 18, 2005
Hee hee! Don't worry thats what friends are for hun! I love ya and keep it up mwah!!
  • Nov 17, 2005
I think it's looking great hun, but I see a few problems here I had to tell you about. I think the background is coming into the front rather than staying at the back. I think that's becauseyou did too much contrast between the light and shade area. A softer shading would do the trick, otherwise that statue seems stuck to the guy's back. Also the swords seem too big in proportion. Maybe that's how it's meant to be but it just stands out to me. One more thing, it seems the eye of the guy on the left (I don't know which is which, sorry) is too close to the nose, if you could just move it a tad away, I think it'd look better. Hope I didn't depress you by this. Sorry But I still love it,
    and you're still doing great!Yes
    • Nov 17, 2005
Oh dear, you never depress me. I NEED to know what to improve on. How else am I going to become fabulous? Smile Now let's see... what to address first? Hmm... I think I see what you mean about the statue. Though I am not quite sure how to fix that. Tongue The swords really are supposed to be this big. And Dante's sword (the guy on the left) IS really that huge. The sword is called Alastor and is just about as big as he is. Laughing Dante's eye probably should be moved back a tad bit from the bridge of the nose. >_< Well I do have some other things I want to fix on this as well. So it looks like I will be doing alot of fixing-up today. No matter though. That is what I need to do to get my pictures to be all sparkly and beautiful. So no worries love. I need your advice. Really really. Yes Thank you so very much for all of your help. All my love. mwah!
      • Nov 18, 2005
Good. I am waiting to see a brilliant masterpiece then, no less. Grin
You know, I think I'm being influenced by Ritsu heheh.
I saw Karana saying the same thing to you about the background. You can use the eraser but only slightly. I have a special eraser for charcoal. Maybe you could use one like that.
        And you're welcome hun. I'm glad I could help.Yes
  • Nov 17, 2005
You sneeky bugger, Youve been creating masterpieces behind my back... well actually right in front of me, as I saw the WIP for this one. Alas I found no time to give it a proper comment. This is Amazing and excellent. I am most impressedwith the characters and backround. It is an all around spectacular work. My hat is off to you.
    • Nov 17, 2005
Zac!!!! *Glomps* Thank you soo much for the wonderful compliment luv. ^_^ I knew you would get around to seeing it one day. I haven't seen you around here much. I bet you are really busy making all of those prettiful pictures, huh? Smile This is definitely one I put alot of time into. I worked on it the better part of 2 days. The characters I had all done within an hour and a half, but the background took forever!!! Oh my gosh... you wouldn't believe how stuck I was trying to figure out what kind of BG to do with this. I have a few things here and there to fix up, but I am getting there. Pretty soon I'll be creating wonderful pictures like you do. :) Much love and thanks again for the amazing compliment. ^_^
  • Nov 17, 2005
My word Kristina, you NEVER stop improving! I really admire you; you never quit, you just keep going. I think you need to feel the utmost amount of pride for this; your shading and background rendering are the best I've seen yet; especially on your characters in the foreground. One critique I'll give that you may be able to fix quickly, is to make the background a little lighter than the foreground (or vice versa); this will make your characters REALLY pop.
Again girlie, you deserve to give yourself a big ole pat on the back for this one! Favorite
    • Nov 17, 2005
Thank you so very very much Heidi. It means alot to me to have your praise and your wonderful advice. I think that is what Atlantis was trying to tell me about the background. Because I know that the skele-statue looks like it is coming out of Dante's back. So I will have to practice more with the background. But I am overall happy with myself because I usually stay away from backgrounds. And I decided to step up to the plate and finally try to do them. So I am still learning, but I have all of you guys to help me along the way. And I am truly grateful for that. Thank you so much. All my love to you. Mwah, mwah, mwah! ^_^
  • Nov 17, 2005
    Yes B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!

My love, you outdid yourself with this one Big Smile
    • Nov 17, 2005
Thank you so very very very much hun. ^_^ That makes me so happy. I can't believe how many people like this one. I feel honored. And thank you for helping me get Dante's sword straightened out. ;) It looks much better now. And thank you for always encouraging me to continue on even when I am pissy with my drawings. Laughing And thank you for just always being by my side. You help me keep my sanity. All my love. Mwah, mwah, mwah! ^_^
  • Nov 17, 2005
What would be even more moody for this already daughting fight here ( XD Go Dante!!!) would be a blackened sky to take the attention away from it. That, and darken the BG a little to emphasis the two spunks ;) Then this would be perfect :nods:
    • Nov 18, 2005
Aww, thank you so much luv. Smile I was seriously hoping you would come back here and see this one. I've missed seeing you around here. Oh yes. I am working on fixing up a few little things here and there and I was honestly thinking about completely blackening up the sky instead of having the brighter areas of the clouds. As for the bg, I am really needing to work on the skele-statue so it doesn't look like it is attached to Dante's back. So I think maybe if I darken up the base of it a bit maybe it will put some depth in there. I'll just have to play around with it. Thank you so very much for your wonderful advice honey. I love learning from other artists. All my love. ^_^
      • Nov 19, 2005
DON'T make those clouds whiter!!! The idea was to draw more attention to the fight. What I normally do is grey out the sky, and blacken the clouds- gives an off cast look- like rain. Depression ;) If you push the state back by darkening it, or darkening the area close to Dante, that would be bette than putting un needed detail into scenery which isn't as improtant as the fight. My way of looking at it is- the important stuff is bright, the unimportant stuff is dark. Everything else is upto the light source. Anyways- with a sky THIS dark, the BG is going to be un highlighted anyways Smile

        *huggles* Glad to know I'm wanted here!! Just wish I had more time to post ACTUAL art, rather than unfinishes, or 1 hour drawings ^^;
        • Nov 19, 2005
You're always wanted here sweetie. Especially by me. I adore you and your wonderful artwork. I think I am going to go back to your DA gallery and leave you some reviews there. And I wasn't going to make the clouds any whiter. I simply meant that they have the brighter areas in them right now which I am going to do away with. Thank you so very much for your wonderful advice. You have no idea how much it means to me to have your help. All my love. *huggles* Mwah! ^_^
          • Nov 19, 2005
Nononono!! Don't do away with them at all!! Just make them darker. They are there, and should be shown- just not in an obvious way Smile

*huggles back* Feel the looove ^^
            • Nov 20, 2005
Okay hun. Thanks again. I sooo feel the love. ^_^
  • Nov 18, 2005
Out of this wonderful, fantasic, purdieful, HOOP-LAH! pic, i found one infentesimal(Is that how u spell it?) flaw, the skull getting the "Lord of the Flies"(or the snake-thingy goin thru him if u never read the book) treatment is kinda-like putty looking. Other than that this pic is just AWSUM! I worship in your drawing-drawie-ness Worship
    • Nov 19, 2005
Thank you so much for your kind words luv. ^_^ And I know what you mean about that skull/snake. I am actually seeing it as a bit of an eye-sore actually. I am thinking about doing iaway with it all together and maybe putting a gargoyle there. (Which I should have done in the first place. >_<)But oh well. I will think of something. Thank you so very much for your help on this. I really appreciate it. I want to make this one pretty damn near perfect if I can. Laughing So it really is appreciated. Much love. ^_^

Aww, honey... just keep being the wonderful person that you are. People are drawn to you because you are such a positive person. You never fail to make others feel good about themselves. You are like a little ray of sunshine on a cloudy day and that is why so many people have fallen in love with you. Smile Just don't ever change, okay? Because you are an awesome person and an awesome friend to have. :) All my love to you.
  • Nov 25, 2005
    this is awesome!
    • Nov 25, 2005
Thank you so very much luv. Smile I really appreciate the compliment. I wish I could learn how to draw animals like you though. My goodness. You will have to give me some pointers some time. Thank you again for the wonderful compliment. Much love. ^_^
      • Nov 26, 2005
No problem at all ^^ lol I could try and give you some pointers n stuff when you want ^^ even if it means uploading sketchy basics n stuff lol =^.^=
        • Nov 26, 2005
I would LOVE that! And I would be ever so appreciative. If there is one thing I completely can not do, it is draw animals. >_< I have tried, but my animals always look weird. Sick They always end up shaped funny. Laughing I always say they were born like that. I drew a Centaur a while back and I almost cried because I had such a hard time drawing that horse half of his body. Luckily I stuck to it and the horse body came out looking somewhat like a horse body. So any help you can give me I would appreciate so so much. Thanks again luv. ^_^
          • Oct 13, 2006
lol sorry for the late reply, university has been keeping me busy by completely messing me around and such. What type of animals would you like some basic sketches on first? ^^ (If you still want them =3 )
            • Oct 26, 2006
Well actually, I would love some basics on horse bodies. There are a couple of concepts involving horses that I'd like to draw, but it is had considering how muscular they are. Another one I'd like help on is the bodies of wolves/dogs. I am wanting to do a drawing of a Cerberus (sp?) but I need some basic structure help first. Eheheh.
  • Nov 26, 2005
wow! this is really great! Those two look hot! Grin
    • Nov 26, 2005
Thanks sweetheart. And yes, these two are so very hot. They are twin brothers. Vergil (the one on the right and definitely the hottest twin) is evil and hell-bent on taking over the world and opening up hell or something like that to wreak havoc on the world. Dante (the one on the left), though definitely hot, is on a rampage to stop him. personally, I think he is jealous because Vergil got all the looks. ;) But anywhoo, it leads to a big violent fight between the two and this is a depiction of that fight. I am actually going to fix up the few things that I need to fix today. I just haven't been able to get around to it. Always so much to do. Tongue But anywhoo, I am so pleased that you like it. I worked really hard and I am glad that it shows. All my love. ^_^
      • Nov 27, 2005
interesting, I did think that guy looked scrumptious in the commercials but now I find out he's got a brother who's hotter? WOO HOO!!!
        • Nov 27, 2005
Indeed. ^_^ As you can see, Vergil is way hotter and I didn't just draw him that way because I favor him. Innocent I could stare at him all day.... Ponder But anywhoo, thank you once again for your sweet comments on my humble little pictures Kichi-san. Laughing I have no idea what I am saying but I am on an overload of coffee. Sick All my lovesies. Mwah! ^_^
  • Dec 2, 2005
Good lord lol. I'd say this piece was slated for alot of time and effort. I can deffinately see it took just that with the amount of shading and contrasts of dark and light I see going on here. @_@ Wow lol. I've not played DMC3 before, but I heard it was good. One thing that strikes my eyes, is how real the bricks are looking, I find bricks to be a hard subject myself, but you got them down quite well. I can also understand why the BG too longer than the characters..that's like trying to fill up a whole background with a black colored pencil >_< lol, but you stuck with it and got it done, and it has turned out marvelously. Good job
    • Dec 2, 2005
Oh my gosh Chris... you have NO IDEA how black my hands were after finishing this one. And I am actually in the process of fixing things up on this one. Like the sky... I am going to just darken it up. I hate how it vcame out. I also need to soften the edges a bit on that statue behind Dante and I need to do something with that one with the skull/snake on it. The more I look at that, the more I hate it. >_< So I am going to fix it up before I put it up at DA. (Oh and I figured out how to add people to my watch list over there. It was actually quite simple once I sat down and figured it out. Laughing ) Anywhoo, you should DEFINITELY play this game sometime. Oh man, I kick butt at it. The graphics alone are worth playing it for. Awesome game. Yes And bricks are actually pretty simple to do hun. They are just draw a rectangle. Put a little bit of pencil inside to give it some color. Blend the pencil (I prefer to use q-tips for blending) and make sure you leave a bit of "lighter" areas on them from where your light source would be coming from. And voila! The hard part was making them look like some of them were broken. Anywhoo, thank you for your praise and your compliments. Smile And I accept virgin sacrifices as well.
  • Dec 7, 2005
You have so verymuch improved since the last time I was here. Your shading is dangerously close to perfect and I am envious as while you seem to be improving your technique by leaps and bounds I seem to have stagnated. Wonderful work Kristy!!!
    • Dec 7, 2005
Lloyd, my dear, I seriously doubt you have stagnated. Remember... I consider you an art god. ;) You just haven't had a chance to work on your art much lately. Don't worry sweetie, you will be back to creating your masterpieces in no time. Yes That said, I want to thank you for your kind words to me on this one. I do have a couple of things to fix on it that I'm not happy with, but I put so much time and effort into this one and I am pretty proud of it. Smile I am trying to work on putting some darker tones into my more recent drawings to make them stand out more. I am so very happy that you are noticing my progress though. That makes me feel so wonderful. :) I have missed you. I hope everything is going all right for you. Much love. ^_^
      • Dec 10, 2005
I have also missed you my friend and I will be keeping tabs on your latest and past works as they just seem to be improving with every submission. *hugs and a twirl for my friend*
        • Dec 10, 2005
Aww, thanks Lloyd. You are always so sentimental and know just what to say to make my eyes tear up. Smile I am really trying to improve in my art. And I am so grateful for all of your praise and support. You really have no idea what it means to me. I hope to one day be able to create those jaw-dropping works that you always seem to create. Your mind and your creativity are really astounding. And it is wonderful to see your creativity flow with your drawings. So I will be waiting anxiously for your new works as well. Just don't rush yourself and go at your own pace. *Big hugs back to you. And as far as the twirl goes, I hope I didn't step on your toes. I am a bit clumsy* Laughing
          • Dec 10, 2005
Not as clumsy as me I bet. You have truly improved as i've said before and I will have something to post very soon. You take care my friend and all the best.
  • Dec 8, 2005
Well I thought it was perfect before but holy smokes..............<JAW DROPPED TO THE FLOOR> I like the gargoyle much better but that is more of a personal taste issue there Grin I think the statue behind Dante look GRRRRRREAT!! And yes dear they do pop out alot more now

    • Dec 8, 2005
Whew! Thank goodness. I am glad that you like the little gargoyle. Though he is more adorable than intimidating. Ah well. He is a HUGE improvement over that other ghastly attrocity I had on that pillar. Laughing And I am wondering if I may have lightened up that statue behind Dante a bit too much at the base because now it looks like a ghost. Though that will work perfectly too. ;) Thank you so much for all of your help, praise, encouragement, and darnit, just for being you. (Oh and by the way, I love your black hair. You are so prettiful. Smile ) All my lovies. mwah!
      • Dec 8, 2005
Embarrassed Thank you my love!! Black is the color of the month, but my roots are growing out so soon it will be time to change again Grin

I don't think the pillar looks like a ghost, have you ever noticed the base of statues always seem to get more light than the rest of it anyway?? I've always thought that was bit strange in museums because no matter how they do the lighting it happens unless its one light at the very top which I've only seen done once.
        • Dec 8, 2005
So what color will you do next? Personally, I think everyone should be a red head. Yes Heehee. In all honesty, I never really have noticed the base of statues, but I will take your word for it. And even if I have it all wrong, well then dagnabbit! it will be right just because you said it is. Oh my gosh... did I just say "dagnabbit?" Oh dear... Anxious All my love to you. ^_^
          • Dec 8, 2005
*scratches head* I don't know, Red was the last color before black so probly not that. I'll see what the old man thinks I've done almost every color except my fav Green but I won't go there cause it might look like I dyed my hair with my boogies (EEEEWWW)

dagnabbit, LOL thats as good as my son-of-a-biscut Grin Yes I have spoken and it is good!! Anyone who dares say other wise shall face the wrath of my baby's poopoo dippyEvil Laughing

Warning: Before you eat anything, check the date, otherwise you'll be sorry... *burb* Excuse me...

Yararararr! I'm back, sicker than ever (literally)! Anyway, so you turned a beautiful piece into MORE beautiful one! Great work, my dear! Thumbs Up

    • Dec 8, 2005
Awww, my poor baby. Good... you're taking my advice and going to go lay down. I hope you feel better sweetheart. I hate it when you aren't well. Sad Anywhoo, thank you for your wonderful words to me on this pic. I took into account everything told me needed to be fixed and I fixed it as best as I could. Oh no! I am rambling and making you stay up! Okay... I will just tell you later. But thank you so much honey. It means alot to me. All my love and kisses to you. mwah mwah mwah! Now go rest. Doctor's orders. ;)
  • Jan 19, 2006
Wow awesome scene, and your shading is amazing, I love the background.
    • Jan 19, 2006
O.O! Why... thank you. *blink, blink* I have never really had any compliments on my shading, so I am a bit overwhelmed. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Cry Nono, don't worry... these are happy tears. Smile Anywhoo, this is one of the greatest scenes from my most favorite game (Devil May Cry 3 ). The background I thought up all on my own though. Yay! Thanks again. *huggles* ^_^
  • Mar 2, 2006
Wow, luv. I love this picture. That shading....I just can;t get over how well you've done the shading on this picture. Great job, hun.
    • Mar 3, 2006
Thanks sweetheart. I think the biggest thing I need to work on is my shading. So I am always working on that. And it makes me feel so happy that you noticed that. Smile All my love to you. *hugs*
  • Mar 12, 2006
This drawing really is good! I am a big fan of Devil May Cry and I really think you did a wonderful job. The background is great, way better than the backgrounds I draw. Sweat Drop
    • Mar 13, 2006
Aww, thank you sweetheart. Smile I am also a HUGE fan of the Devil May Cry games. DMC 3 is by far my favorite. Except I think Dante should lay off of his brother Vergil. I think maybe he is just mad because Vergil got all the looks. ;) LOL JK But Vergil IS my favorite of the twins. I am so glad that you like the background I did for this. I actually am terrible at doing backgrounds. I try to avoid them if I can. Maybe that's just laziness. Sweat Drop Thank you again for your wonderful comments. It makes it all worth it. *hugs*
  • May 9, 2006
Oh, wow!!! This is truly amazing, hun!!! You did a wonderful job revising this!! I absolutely love it. But, then again, I've always loved your drawings. You're getting so much better every time. You're so much better than I am. I'm a little rusty right now, since I haven't been doing a lot of drawing. But, yeah, enough of my rambling, keep up the good work!!!
    • May 9, 2006
Aww thanks love. I like the revised one alot better too. Smile I saw that you put up a new deviation. I will most definitely take a look at it when I am done replying to this. Don't worry about being out of practice. It is like riding a bike. Once you get back on, it is like you were never gone. Or something metaphysical like that. Laughing Nice to see you back love. Hug
  • May 22, 2006
WOW! You have great shading skills! Looks great. It kind of reminds me of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children sceen. But very nice work Smile
    • May 22, 2006
Haha! It does look a bit like something from Advent Children doesn't it? Smile Well these two guys are from my very most favorite video game of all time called Devil May Cry 3 for PS2. They are twin brothers (Dante and Vergil) and this scene I chose to do depicts only one of their many fighting scenes. They don't get along too well with each other. That whole sibling rivalry thing. Thank you so much for the review on this. I still need to work on softening my shading up a bit, but it will get there slowly. Thanks again luv. Hug
  • May 23, 2006
    Awesome
    • May 24, 2006
Thank you so much. Well this scene here is my most favorite scene from Devil May Cry 3. The two brothers (Dante and Vergil) just can't seem to ever get along. Smile
  • Jun 1, 2006
    Really Cool!
    • Jun 3, 2006
Thank you my dear. Have you ever played this game before? If not, I highly recommend it. This was a fun picture to draw, but it took so long for me to get it finished. I complain too much. ><
      • Jun 3, 2006
Ha ha. Well, it turned out great in any case. I have only played a demo of Devil May Cry, but it looked awesome. I would have bought it, but I'm broke.

  • Jun 3, 2006
I adore the drawing which you ace make very pretty, you have a gift exeptionnel to be a continuous artist like that... Bravo!!!
  • Jun 13, 2006
    wow..pencil works fascinates me..
im a pencil person i enjoy looking at other people pencil works as well..
i havent played the game ...but it looks exciting..the bg is wow..bg usually gives me the creeps when i have to make one..also the clothes...its what characters in this game actually wear?i like the big guys clothing...
    oh well haveto go now!

    vampire kiss
    • Jun 13, 2006
I will tell you the same thing I tell everyone that hasn't played the game... YOU SHOULD PLAY IT!!! Yes It is (this is the part where I say "in my opinion" ) the greatest game of all time! Not only because of the action and the missions, but the special effects are a work of art. Smile It definitely is my most favorite game of all time. And I am not just saying that because of the hot computer generated guys in it. Big Smile Now then... yes these are really the clothes the characters wear. But me being the pervert that I am would rather them be wearing nothing at all. :) But I don't think I will get my way with that. Sad These 2 are twin brothers. One is working for the greater good of mankind (Dante aka the guy on our left) while his twin brother Vergil (aka my favorite of the duo/ the one on our right) is obsessed with taking over the world and opening a portal that will unleash hell on earth. I have a thing for the bad guys.
I so know what you mean about bgs.Usually I avoid them because I get lazy and I run out of ideas for what to put in the BG that won't smother or take away from the main characters. So I usually leave them out. But this one is from a time period where I decided I seriously needed to pull myself out of my rut and put some kind of BG in. So this BG is completely made up in my mind. It is nice to meet another person that prefers the traditional style of drawing with pencils or graphite sticks or charcoal or what have you. It is my passion. I love to do realism and I am trying hard to get my shading more subtle and have a softer blended effect. But I am getting there. Thank you so much for the review. I swear you spoiled me with your compliments. Not that I mind it at all. Heehee I look forward to seeing more amazing art from you. I think I have a smiley addiction. >W< Take care. Hug
      • Jun 13, 2006
hhmmm..well sound like i just have to run to the store now and buy the game even if i dont have the software where to play it..lol...
        yeah..pencils rule!!!!
im not spoiling you..im just saying what i think..lol...ok..maybe just a little bit..lol...
  • Jan 31, 2007
I LUV THIS! If biblical knowledge serves me, Vergil and Dante are from "The divine comedy" right? If I recall, they led one another through the depths of hell. Anyhoo, the shadings is great, the lining rocks, and Danthe is HOT! Luv His sword! (wink wink)Lightsaber
    • Feb 13, 2007
*giggles* I am actually more of a Vergil fan myself. ^_^ But yes, Dante is hot. And these two are actually from the PS2 video game Devil May Cry 3. Thank you so much for reviewing my artwork hun. Especially this pic because this is one of my best drawings in my gallery I think. I am glad that it has received some love. Thanks again sweetie. ^_^
  • Sep 8, 2007
    wow this is great!
    • Sep 12, 2007
Thank you so much. ^_^ I am trying to get better with my shading and this piece was just so dark. Ah well. Live and learn. Thank you so much for the compliment luv. Greatly appreciated. ^_^
  • Jul 30, 2008
A-Ma-Zing. That is a really good drawing. the shading is done very well. Nice job ^^.
