Show you who's boss

Sharing here in the spirit of Valentine's~
Arrios isn't exactly the hardened assassin type, he's too mouthy for that. And Laele doesn't approve of his career choice, but that doesn't stop her from supplying him with poison. They've got a strange relationship dynamic, but they get along well - And maybe mister tough guy killer isn't the boss after all.

This was a bit of a collaboration between me and grieverjoe grieverjoe - I did the lines, he did the inks, then I did the coloring. I like his lineart a lot better than mine... XD
It was my first time experimenting with breaking away from my typical cartoony style and incorporating some features from their different ethnicities into a non-realistic drawing. Not entirely happy with Laele, but Arrios is all right.
Outfits are totally non-canon for the characters, but whatever. I'm an adult, I can do what I want!

Laele belongs to me, and Arrios belongs to my love, grieverjoe grieverjoe ~

I like the pose. I like that the girl is being aggressive. You don't see that too often.

Thank you! It's a slightly older drawing, but I figured it was good for this time of year. :3 They're a comical pair, so I'll be sharing some more stuff with them in it soon.

Paperdemon also has a romance challenge on if you'd like to work on a new one this month Big Smile And there's nothing wrong with slightly older art ^^ Stay artproud. I know many artists that mock their old art. I'm a firm believer in cherishing it, even if you look at it like a different artist. It's where you've been, and you've progressed and you should always be proud of that ^^ Though I imagine that by slightly older, you mean less than 1 year rather than more XD

It's right about a year old, I think I've improved a bit since then XD But you're right, it's important to be proud of where you've been! I like to keep a binder of old drawings I used to be really proud of so I can go back and look at how much my work has changed. Sometimes I still find things in my old art that I liked the method of better, so I try to incorporate that into new stuff as I learn.
I'll have to see if I have time to squeeze in another romance drawing before the end of the month!

Exactly Big Smile I do that with all my art- I've had art since... before I was 8. I don't know how old. I use to draw story book cover ideas and concepts in my old school books XD I was a huge bookworm in school Smile Now days, I have abotu 12 x 100 leaf clear files of art- sketch, final or otherwise. I rarely bin stuff. It's great to keep old art for those reasons Big Smile

I look forward to your new romancy picture ^^
