THANKS SO MUCH....Ever since I was a little kid I always started out with the eyes first and drew to that. This used to aggravate my teachers in art school to no end and I never figured out why....one of them said I should draw the over all subject in sketch form first and then work in. I look at it this way.....do whatever works for you and tell the busy-body instructors to go to blazes.
I sort of get why it's nice for a lot of folks to draw the general form first as a rule, because for some of us that decreases the risk of getting the eyes too big or having trouble matching them to the angle of the rest of the face. But it's cool that you can pull it off - and show the naysayers that rules have exceptions!
