Penciled Eagle

This was a Christmas gift for a family member, who requested the specific image and sent me the reference. It was supposed to be a commission piece, but since the holidays were coming, I decided to just give it to him. I'm fairly happy with it, but my scanner did WAY too good a job of picking up every fiber, detail, and pencil crumb on that paper! Anyway, prismacolor pencil on black sketch paper.

Oh nice detail. The colors in the beak especially are nice.

I like how you went about putting the flag on the bird, it doesn't feel plastered on, but it still retains that feeling of seperatness from the feathers.

  Thanks! Though the idea wasn't original; I just used a picture provided by the person who wanted this. I'm sure it's on Google somewhere, lol.
