Imperfect Fit

Posted Oct 2, 2017, 4:20:32 AM

I had this piece in mind for a while, I wanted to play with silk texture and when I think of silk, I think of Asia, thus a kimono happened. At her age, this shy kid is still small enough to fit into most loose human clothing, such as robes, though they don't make a great fit for obvious reasons- why she would try the clothes on though is a different matter, there isn't much in the way of humans where she lives! I tried to make it close to how an actual kimono is (I believe that it's a tsukesage?), but I didn't reference from the start and it shows in a couple spots, heh. The screen was a ton of fun with the little flower details, working in an indoors environment is a nice change.

Art and character belong to me, don't steal or repost, thanks.

This is gorgeous. The dragon's shyness is cute, and I'm amazed at how you managed to do the clothing folds in a garment with such detailed designs.

Thank you! She is a very shy~ Getting patterns to show right on a folding surface is hard, but with practice I've gotten better. Smile

    Look Mom, I'm a human! ;)

Agreed with StarKnights on the translucent fin beign a great touch.
I like her expression and the pattern on the kimono too, and blue/golden sorts of color contrast are always really beautiful.

It's a part of her design I enjoy a lot too, it's great when you want to show more of something that her fins or wings cover Smile She's a sweet kid, and I agree, deep blues and honey colors are so nice to look at- and to play with!
