A try at Jill Wolcott from Down Among the Sticks and Bones, book two in Seanan McGuire's Wayward Children series - thinking of the dress like an orchid, what would that even be likeβ¦
I knew I needed to keep the center of the flower in the design somehow, and wound up putting it on the bow - it seemed right for her, how it looks a little like a bird's head and a little like an animal skull.
This was actually part of a larger sketchpage-in-progress but I decided to isolate it because I was Pleased with how it came out. :)
One thing I'm not sure about is whether the contrast was high enough - the delicate lines sorta work with - floaty and dreamlike, isolated existence - but I'm concerned about visibility on other computer resolutions/brightness settings. Also I'm not sure if it came accross how *young* she's supposed to be, early teens - does that get changed a bit by the sharp jaw edges?
