Kamon C.S.

The ref for my youngest son Kamon~ I had it done before any other art of him since I live in my refs folder, but I wanted the first things people see of him to be full art pieces, so it waited to be put up until now. My refs usually are flat color, but considering how he has irridescent green scales and blue fin bits, I get the feeling people would overlook that aspect of him if I put it flat here. Plus, what even is the "base" color of something irridescent? It changes color and is extremely light reactive, so there isn't any set tone.

Anyways, small ramble aside, I'm pretty happy with his design. There was a few months where I stewed over it, thinking about it on and off, and the end result feels more thoroughly thought out than my initial ideas. I still ended up going back to it with some major tweaks after I initally declared it "finished," like thickening a lot of the stripes and adding the grey, haha. Not saying that I expect it from anyone, but if you wanna draw him, feel free to use a nice ref for him now lol.

Art and Kamon belong to me.

Don't redestribute, recolor, heavily reference, trace, or otherwise use unless for the sake of making art of Kamon.

In that case, send me a link to it, I love seeing art of my oc children

Aaaa he looks SO cool and the art is so so good I love it!!!
I love how well the colors mix too!!! Looks like a minty but dangerous kid, and the iridescence only makes it cooler ✨💛

Thank you! I usually dislike green/red combos because of how tacky they can look, so it was a lot of fun to find the right hues to make them compliment one another Smile I haven't had any characters with iridescent scales, it has been a heck of a learning experience!

My pleasure!!! I usually find them hard on the eye too so this was very pleasant to look at!! 💛💛
