Pitch Black

The rippling of the water is done well, it suggests a slow current, and the redness of the murk makes you wonder what else is mixed into it. I enjoy the consistency of the glowing material coming from their mouth- it has a sinister feel, especially with how it drips and flows. However, the brightness of it doesn't feel gory, which is a neat contrast- it feels innately magical, but the biggest thing that pushes it to the sinister side is the origin of it, both being from the mouth and from a dark stryx swimming in questionable water. That may not be the feel you were going for, but I think it is more intriguing than the alternative.
