A refuge within the storm

Guess who just got her groove back!!!!

This is for the crossover event where your Dracostryx, Aquella dragons, and PaperDemons ARPG where you rescue a crashed blimp full of people. Here you can see Dorris, Rift and ronald keeping the survivors alive. Dorris using her ice powers to keep their boats a float, Ronald keeping the thrashing waves at bay, and Rift acting as a beacon whilest Gwen brings in the rescue team. I really struggled with Rift glowing as it didn't really look righ but I'm happy with the result!

The composition of this is beautiful, those huge waves frame the piece in a way that really focuses the eye on the dragons while also showing the kind of maelstrom they're dealing with. I feel like the lightning and Rift are competing with their luminescence, which is probably part of that problem- despite this, they go together splendidly, with the lighting drawing the eye down past the stryxes to her. One way you could reduce that competition would be to darken the waves, adding to the piece's overall contrast.
