The soft tones used in the snow are excellent, the piece has a gentle feel to it. I see one of the farthest back trees has a little white out going on, which adds greatly to the ambiance- it would be neat to see more trees fading out in that manner, as the forest feels oddly thin with so few visible. The snow clinging to the rock is done well, its patchy and suggests irregularity to its surface, which matches the shape of it.

With the paw of the stryx we can see, is it supposed to be in the air, or against the ground? If its not holding weight, showing a stronger crook in the leg would convey that better. If it is holding weight, it would really immerse the creature into the setting to show the foot partially sunk into the snow, since that happens even to light creatures (and stryxes are typically quite large compared to a bird). The curiosity you can see in the stryx is cute. Nice piece!

Bit late, but thanks for the feedback!

And yeah, it's supposed to hold weight. In the original sketch there was less snow on the ground, which is why I forgot to have her sink down a bit. I'll try to keep it in mind for later pieces.
