Harmakhis sphinx-form

Posted Jan 20, 2006, 9:17:43 AM UTC

Another sketch randomly thrown in in my free time, It looks fine, but I feel that a lot more detail could be put into it to make it look more realistic. Does anyone know were I could find a nice tutorial by someone who draws really good lions?

Ooo, it's adorable! I love it! Yes, detail would be a great addition. Her muzzle is kind of squarish, a muzzle has a bit more form than that. And her ears are really pointy. And skinny. I know this was just a sketch, and probably not intended to be much more than that, but you could've at least finished her wings and shaded her hair a bit darker. It confused me at first. Her front legs also aren't very good. They have the same noodle effect that the Unfinshed Fighting Stance had. It doesn't look like she could walk very well. (Feel free to go burn my artwork! ^^" I can be very critical, I'm sorry!)

My first thought is photo referances in that pose. Profesional artists do that to remind themselves of poses. I do it cause I'm still learning alot. I don't have many hints on animals, but I strongly suggest referances. I have a libuary of them for humans alone Smile
