Oy... this feels much better. :) I absolutely LOVE doing realism and it has been a while since I have done any. So I thought I'd stretch my legs and attempt to do a fanart of Elijah Wood. I have been wanting to do one of him for a while now, but failed miserably in every other attempt I had tried. So I found a pretty good (and sexy, might I add) picture of him from the cover of a little incerpt of our Omaha World Herald Newspaper called Parade. This was the picture that was on the cover of the December 2002 issue. I think it was like the 12th or 14th or something. Not like it matters. It was some time ago. Anyway, I liked the picture. Plus it was air-brushed which means there wasn't too many shadows or anything else that I had to deal with. And the result is this.
I had the hardest time with his eyes. >_< I must have re-done them a million times before I was happy with them. He has such hard eyes to draw. But, I am pretty happy with them at this point.
EDIT: I have now fixed the hair problem to the best of my capabilities. I think his hair looks alot more leveled out and not quite as stiff. And I even went and added some plaid to his shirt. SO, I am overall pretty happy with how Mr. Wood came out. Never again will I draw him though. Those eyes were such a pain. >_<
mmmm...*drools*Awesome....innocent:This is sooo awesome hun!Frodo is my fav hobbit! And his sky blue eyes...You`ve drawn him so well!Simply beautiful! The shading and those eyes....*sigh*You`ve made a wonderful job on this one hun!!!Luv Ya!!!MMMmmwwaaahhh! *drools*
Doesn't he look so droolable in this pic? I have never seen him look so "rough and manly" before. But he sure looks good in stubble. The hardest part was those eyes of his. Mr. Wood has those heavy bags under his eyes and I must have re-done those a million times before I had them looking right. Well, as right as I can anyway. Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments sweetie. All my love to you. Mwah mwah mwah! And one more just for being so awesome. Mwah!
WOOOT! Mr. Wood looks totally HOT! *grabs and runs* good job. My hubby is saying I'm nuts for thinking he's hot and that I have bad taste in actors but since he's a man his opinion doesn't count
No, you are perfectly right in thinking he's hot. I absolutely think he is hot. Who can resist those baby blues of his? And that stubble on him makes him look even more manly and hot. I am so glad that you like this drawing of him. I worked pretty hard on it. And it seems it paid off. Thanks for your awesome compliments hun. All my love to you. Mwah!
Ah, Mr. Wood (p.s. That's the greatest thing I've ever heard him called! ) Looking rather sexy, I must agree. And I can SO relate to your eye problem; when I drew Legolas, I went back over those dagon things about ninety times trying to get them right...And you most certainly did! As Megs was saying, I knew who this was the second I saw the thumbnail; marvelous job Kristina! *huggles*
That is the greatest name ever. Mr. Wood. Heehee I am glad that I am not the only one that is lusting after this hobbit. I saw this pic of him and I LOVED it. I thought he looked very sexy in it. I am so happy that he was so easily recognizable too. That is a total plus. Woot! Thanks again for your wonderful compliments sweetheart. All my love. *hugs*
Doesn't he look so manly in this drawing? I think maybe it is the stubble. I don't know. But I think he looks very hot in this pic. The hardest part was his eyes. He has rather large eyes and not to mention those bags under his eyes. Man... but I think I finally pulled it off. Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments hun. All my love. Mwah!
Bluer than blue, those eyes..... Beautiful render, dahling. You've done an excellent job with him indeed! *sigh* This makes me want to do more fanart... That's exactly what I'm not supposed to be doing, though... *pout*
You really like him lovey? I simply fell in love with the picture I was working from. I have never really seen Mr. Wood look so umm... "manly" I guess. He has a bit of stubble and everything. I am used to him always being completely shaven and having such a baby face and everything. But this picture gave me a whole new appreciation for him. I thought he looked rather dashing. And know what? If you want to do some fanart, I will keep your secret. I won't tell anyone. I promise. Oh, I have so much to tell you. I think I am going to write you a PM. Yeah... that's what I'll do. All my love, dear husband. Mwah!
Yes, he does look rather dashing, doesn't he? Still, it doesn't matter what he does - those baby blues of his are hypnotic. I think he'll still entrance people when he's an old man, with those eyes.
Yes, I really like him - or at least this portrait of him. You've done a superb job - how could I not? Especially on that hair. That must have taken some time and attention to get so much detail.
Oh yes... he will still have my heart. Even when he is old and gray. He is about my age I think. There we go. I will marry Elijah Wood. Just kidding. And yes hun, that hair took me forever. ANd I don't know where I would be if you hadn't taught me that trick with the eraser for doing the highlights. I LOVE that technique. It is so simple and gives such amazing results. So thank you thank you thank you! *glomps you* I rub you dahling. Mwah!
*Gasp* Could it be? My favorite redhead drew my favorite hobbit (well, ok, second favorite hobbit, technically -- Sam is first, haha!) ??? Kritsy, you did such an amazing job with him. I saw the little thumbnail and knew right away who it was; all that reworking of the eyes must have paid off, because it looks just like him. And best of all, you captured that little rougish twinkle in his baby blues that makes him who he is. I would be really proud if I were you And I, for one, am thrilled to see fanart of one of the Lord of the Rings cast; especially portrayed so darn well. As only Kristy can do it ^_^
You could really tell who it was from the thumbnail? Sweet! Frodo is definitely my favorite hobbit of them all. Well, him and Pippin. You've gotta love Pippin's curiosity. But Frodo has always been my favorite since I was a little girl and Elijah Wood played him so perfectly. And I have been wanting to do a fanart of him for a while, but every other time I attempted it, I failed. Those eyes are really hard to get just right because he has such big "bags" under them. But I think I pulled it off. ^^ And I have fixed his hair and even added a plaid design to his shirt now. I hope you like the new version just as much. I am so overjoyed that you like it. All my love to you Megan. *hugs*
I could definitely tell who it was! You're right, Frodo & Pippin are da bomb ^_^ My absolute favorite hobbit will always be Sam, but you just can't not love Fodo & Pip! lol You really did an amazing job capturing him, especially with those tricky eyes. And I think putting a pattern on his shirt is the perfect touch You nailed him
