Painted Rocky Headshot

I'm trying to get into digital painting, this is one of my first attempts. I'm happy with the texture of the feathers and the blending of the colors, but I definitely have a long way to go until I consider myself "decent" at it (which is okay because as I said before this is one of my first tries).

I think the next time I try, I'm going to do the painting in greyscale then add the color afterwards, to play with values more.
