Generations Bit 3

This is another of the six pieces I've done for a project for conceptual illustration on Role Playing Games. This one is probably the most different from the other five because it is very graphic and iconic.

This symbol is based on Celtic knotwork and is meant to represent the brotherhood or teamwork aspect of role-playing games. My professor mentioned in class an idea for me to use for an illustration but it sounded to me too much like competition. I realised that RPG is rarely based around competing. It's about working together. In Final Fantasy you have a party of people that you meet along the way who help you achieve your goals in the game. In traditional table-top role playing games, such as Dungeons and Dragons, you aren't competing against the other people playing the game. But, instead, have to work together in order to get through the dungeon or slay the dragon.

*giggles* Not hte RP I play in. You have the good characters and neutral that work together, and the evil ones that make everything go KABOMB!! XD Team member falls into a hole in the middle of combat "throw me a rope" Throws a rope to them. Both ends ^^; Heheh.... To be evil.... :3

yeah but are the evil ones playable characters or NPCs? I can understand there is a fair share of backstabbing among players but for the most part all the players are on the same side right?

Ohhhh- yeah. You have not done real RP till you join a group with scandal. My Sunday game- my character has just died so she could be resorected as a blood mage, but NOONE knew that she was from another world, and a Black council member- ie- evil. I mean, she carrys a photo sensitive blood sucking rabbit as a familier- PEOPLE!! RECONISE!! Anyways- I made it that she was running away to another universe cause the council wanted her dead. The GM made a character that owned my old one, but got nearly killed by her assistant. By the time my party caught up, there was my first character on the ground dead, the one that killed her held off the ground by her partner- my team assumed he killed my character, and let the murderer join their party when the went to chase after him!! She is gonna have some FUN with this unsuspecting party :3 Noone knows what she is capable of ^^ Or her alignment.

Ummm- players working together if its conveniant to the charcter btw- Wink
