Mistake

Prompt 5: Draw or write about a mistake your character made. Hopefully it’s not as bad as this Soggy Sentinel!

Uhhhhh.... it may not "technically" be as bad as the Soggy Sentinel's mistake, but Freya sure feels like it's a lot worse. Probably because it's her own. 

"It's still her face technically but her appearance becomes distorted when the lycanthropy is difficult to suppress. Her talisman prevents her from fully transforming into a wolfish beast, but it can't stop everything especially when she has a strong emotion or feeling. When the wolf side of her feels threatened or endangered it can take control.

I imagine this piece happened just a bit after her encounter with the one who cursed her. The interaction rattled her and she started realizing that things have changed and she doesn't feel the same. Primarily with food. She puts off eating the things that she used to enjoy because they don't taste like they're supposed to anymore.

She's slumped over at the edge of a farm property due to exhaustion. She's a little bit delirious and her vision fades in and out. At one point she notices a cat has curled up on her lap and thinks "that's nice" and fades out again. She comes to because the cat is now hissing and trying to get away from her. She's trying to let go but she can't, all she can do now is watch. Hence the crying.



If going chomp on a cat was not enough, the next time she enters town she sees hand drawn flyers from a child asking if anyone has seen their pet. She quickly finds a way to leave, discovering portals and distancing herself from her mistake."
