The night sky shows twinkles of white. Some yellow. A touch of red. It pierces the inky blackness. Blooms with blues, purples. There is no rock floating above to reflect light. It all belongs to the burning gasses that make the scene so captivating in the first place. It looks so close, you think. Like you could reach out and smear that cluster of stars shining so brightly, make shooting stars with the paintbrush of your hand. A hint of a smile moves your lips. You lift a pointed finger-
But it's already dripping on you.
Sizzling.
Ah. That's right.
The feathers you forgot you had growing out your shoulder erupt in flame.
All senses are flipped, and suddenly you plummet through the burning lake of falsehood. Whatever you were resting on before is no more - in its place is a searing white, or maybe your sights been lost by the rib crushing pain.
The sky is crying. Bleeding.
You wish you could cry out. But when was the last time you heard your own voice?
You wish you could bleed the pain away. Go cold like the others you watched dance 'til they painted the floor.
And you'll keep on wishing, for you'll never get anything you want again.
All too suddenly, you realize you're face first in soft sand. Awkward limbs lift you up, wings stretching but audibly upset at the movement. You're sat in a desert - was that the word? - or something reminiscent of it. You reach up, and your feathers are fine. A comforting pat. The pain never lasts, you know too well. Such things have happened too many times to keep count. A glowing, purple butterfly steals your attention to rest on your reassured claws.
This is the normal viewing of they who have long lost their soul, mind, and familiar body to watch the world fall around them.

And the description! Second-person point of view is an uncommon occurrence, and you handled it beautifully. Looking forward to seeing more of Teuvo ^-^
