Draw or write about your character receiving (or not receiving) a gift. Does your character like getting gifts? Do they dislike it? Do they not have anyone in their life who would give them a gift?

"O-oh, you are... Handing this box to me. Um. Okay. Do you want this back later--"
"No. It's for you! Open it."
"Am I supposed to do something with whatever is inside?"
"Hahaaa! You can do whatever you want with it. Except eat it; it's not edible."
(unwrapping and unboxing) "Oohh, shiny! Wh... what is it for?"
"Paiko, it's a gift! A keepsake. For the sake of keeping. Bring it with you. Use it how you like. And remember us by this."
"Thank you. I will."
For someone who takes plenty of shiny things without asking, Paiko has no idea what to do when he is given something. Normally, when he's handed something, it's a tool or a task or an object to push around or put up or run some other tests with. To receive anything for free without consequence is... something he's getting used to.
This particular gift became part of the talisman he carries around today. The "Starcatcher" trinket, used to hold his Travel Tokens: a piece of shiny metal from Telerand's scrap pile, sourced from some curious world out there, somewhere. With Meki's propensity for crafting and Sylvander's eye for practical design, they put together this 'sending away' present for Paiko before he headed out to explore the wide multiverse.
Happy New Year, everyone! ^-^

I was wondering if it was better to consider it as a year-end or a year-start drawing; think I'll call it a bridge drawing ^-^ Here's to happy adventures and good memories! <3
