#47 - Warm Beverage

Whether it is their morning cup of coffee, their afternoon tea, some freshly warmed motor oil, or a discreet mug of the red stuff, show your character cozied up and enjoying a warm beverage.

"Yes, it is orange juice. Yes, it is warm. Yes, the carton is microwave-safe. Why do you look so confused? L-let me drink my juice in peace, please..."

Hopefully, the fact that Paiko drinks warm juice does not detract from his charm and cuteness. If you think about it, hot cider is basically warm juice. Wassail is basically warm (spiced) juice.

Perhaps the most bothersome detail about this whole situation is the fact that he microwaves his juice boxes in order to reach that optimal temperature.

Telerand (that guy from the party) is to blame for introducing Paiko to the wonderful beverage that is wassail. If you are unfamiliar with the drink, imagine a warm, spiced apple cider. For some, it can be an acquired taste. Certainly Telerand was one of perhaps three total persons in the facility who enjoyed it.

During one of Telerand's visits to the lab, a curious, nosy young Paiko was feeling adventurous (and a little thirsty).

Telerand didn't expect the half-drakon to like it, but it was in Paiko's nature to defy expectations.

Wassail is hard to come by out-of-season, however, so Paiko had to make do with what was available year-round. Juice boxes and a microwave. Pair it with a comfy outfit and a fluffy cloudy beanbag, and he's reached juicy paradise on Earth.
