[#8] Companion

It had been a long night. The emergency pillow fort had been set up in preparation for an all-nighter of studying. His exam was approaching, and there was so much - so much - that he still struggled to learn. The thought of failure overwrote his ability to read, and any attempts to absorb the information on the large book before him was instead met with static. Finley had propped his head up with his hand, tapping his finger against the page. A minute passed. 10 minutes. An hour. He began to drift asleep.

And he would have failed that day, if his faithful companion wasn't there to drag him out of it. Taking matters into their own hands - for Archibald had already read the entirety of the tome - the bookwyrm began to teach the young slug himself. 

To call the bookwyrm a 'pet' would be a terrible disservice. A companion, a close friend. Once the dedicated partner of his father on his own past adventures, after his passing, Archibald's servitude remained. Now the worm looks after his son, and guides his footsteps to a bright future.

Since I have a Bookwyrm Bookmark, I feel it fitting to use the first one on the bookwyrm themselves! I absolutely fell in love with the design for this worm, and you know I just HAD to incorperate it into his lore! Look at them! They're just the cutest! Whilst not a consistent presence in his adventures, since Archibald prefers to stay at their seaside home, he's always there to teach Finley about the various portals, and what awaits within them!
