#51 - Traditional Dress

Does your character have traditional dress from their homeland? Draw or write about your character in their traditional cultural fashion.

"You look a very dashing drakon today, Paiko. Laundry day again?"

"No. Just felt like dressing up."

"Felt like dressing up. Odd statement coming from you. Meki asked you to do this, didn't she?"

"... So what if she did? I happen to like this outfit."

While Paiko was still a full drakon on his home world (and indeed, not yet Paiko), he didn't wear clothes. He didn't need them, and they would probably have been destroyed often anyways.

(Though that would be something interesting to consider- whatever chaos and stress would've torn them apart during the day, would they have reset at midnight like the rest of the timeline?)

For the sake of the prompt, and to give me an excuse to draw Paiko in other cute clothes, I based it on his true origins, rather than his lore. Paiko has a real-life counterpart - PB, a plushy hand-sewn creature roughly the size and shape of a purple yam that's supposed to be a "dragon", or so I was told. A friend brought him back for me from the Renaissance Festival, and though I've had him for almost three years now, it took one recent summer vacation with little PB tagging along for him to finally get a story of his own.

So, here's Paiko in some RenFest dress. Perhaps in a different universe, in a different plane, it could've been the life he led.

Or maybe not. Dragons (or any other members of the scaly, scary, reptilian variety) were not exactly welcome in much of Renaissance Era literature. But how could anyone not fall for such a charming, cute creature?
