• Backstory •

The offspring of a hag and a merfolk, Tullia's start in life wasn't a pleasant one. Her father was driven into madness by her mother after she was conceived. Once birthed, she was tossed into the ocean with complete intention that the merfolk would raise her to adulthood. Thankfully for her, she took more after her father's race and was capable of breathing in the water. The merfolk were unsure what to do with the creature thrown into their homeland. She had the features of most merfolk, but lacked a tail. Shunning her, the village took her to a beach and abandoned her there.
A human guard doing his rounds, happened upon her cries and found her. Never seeing a baby quite like her before, he was at a lost. Under the intention of taking her in until her could seek a proper home for her, he continued on with his rounds as quickly as possible. Being from a smaller port town, it didn't take long for folks to here about the baby abandoned at the ocean. Rumors flew around that she was a bad omen. The guard had returned with her to his home where his mother was completely smitten with the little baby splashed with scales and already thick hair. His mother was already mostly avoided the town except when villagers came to her for remedies. What was expected to be a temporary stay turned into the little one becoming part of the family.
Tullia was raised under the belief that the man was her father and woman her grandmother. She knew early in life that wasn't true, but accept it as it was. They tried many times to get her some sort of formal education, but the children and teachers alike never took well to her. Left with little choice, her grandmother taught her everything she knew. As she got older, it was natural for her to take to being a witch. The magic came naturally. Anticipating what was to come, she was given her grandmother's familiar Cotton, an fluffy cat. No magic it retained before stayed. It took them until she was reaching adulthood to know what sort of being she was exactly. Grandmother made sure to always warn her that when the time came, the Call would beckon to her and she must deny it. Before she reached adulthood, her grandmother passed away of old age. Her father always left his mother to show her the way in life and was as stuck as when he first found her. Adulthood was bringing forth the Call and it was strong. Her magical powers were still lacking. He was a simple human who didn't know what to do. Trying to help, he moved them until the Call got weaker for her. As she got a little older, it got easier to not want to give in.
Currently in life, they settled down in (Blergh). She became better at healing people, though mostly through typical first aid and concoctions her grandmother had taught her. Wanting to see her blossom, her father set her to join a group of folks a buddy of his was needing for a small task. And he did owe the man for securing them a place in (Blergh). Setting off on her next step in life she was anxious and unsure, but wanting to help.

• Friendships•

Being used to folks shunning her for her parental genes, Tullia doesn't have any sort of friendships. She only stays acquainted with folks. Being much like her grandmother, she easily keeps to herself unless she's need.

• Homeland •

Tullia was born and subsequently raised on one of the islands surrounding Pearl Isle. It is one of the smaller islands with few inhabitants. In the surrounding oceans are merfolk more adapted to the colder waters. The island is inhabited with Humans and some Elves in the small forested areas. Near caved in areas leading to small mines, live Goblins. The only town, other than what the Elves have set up, is a typical port town. It is not built to have large ships though. Close to the town are sheep farms and potato crops. The main export of the island are wool and fish. The forested areas, though not to vast, have a lively ecosystem of mushrooms that glow in darkness. Even though it is a place that can be easily taken over by a larger (word that probably isn't army) , they are typically left on their own. Despite that comfort, the village leader does keep the men trained to defend if needed.
