I just finished this today. You may be wondering why the heck I drew a cat in a famous Mission: Impossible scene. There is a specific reason but I can't tell. Just know that it served me well.
Please crit me on this one. I've already sent it off but I'd like to know what people think about it. I think the part I'm least happy with is the face. What do you guys think?
Hi there! I don't know a lot about animals or feline's anatomy in particular, but I'll try to help out!
I just wanted you to know, you did really nicely! I really get a kick out of this picture. The background entertains me a lot.
As for the cat, I'm trying to figure out what might be "wrong" with it. One thing I noticed: it seems that his left arm and leg are both longer and thicker than his right arm and leg, respectively. The crotch is also a little "off" for a cat; it looks like a clothed man's crotch. This might have been the intention, though, so it doesn't bother me much at all.
Still, the picture is SO cute and emotive. I adore it! You did very well!
Thanks for the comments. I have some forshortning action going on and that's why it appears that one arm and leg is shorter than the other. I guess I didn't successfully imply the forshortning.
I see what you are saying about the croch area. Thanks for the tips!
Hahah!! Reminds me of my cat sneaking into my room! I agree on the face. I always thought you should make it more like its enjoying itself or something.
AWESOMENESS! I it! and congrats with getting the internship! seeing this really cheered me up! (since I'm pulling an all-nighter with a friend to finish an article for the school newspaper..) But anyways, awesome job!
I love this and I know this sounds REALLY stupid and a lot of ppl wouldn't get it but it would be funny if the cat had the rope around its leg cos' you could picture it when it stopped...(Laughes by herself. Heh heh.)
*giggle* This is great, BR! I think the most I can say is what's already been said - some more extreme perspective on his leg and tail would have been good. Still, it's an awesome concept. (His face is fine)
Thank you Robin. Yeah I agree with the more extreme perspective. i mean, the background is pretty extreme but his body doesn't show a lot of foreshortening. I should have pushed it more. thanks.
Actually- I can't tell if this cat is happy with it's self or has foul intentions! XD He's got such a sneeky look on his face :3
Sorry I can't crit on this- I'm terrible at animals on my best days... although his right 'leg' (the one that looks like it's acting as one anyways) looks a little off, but I may just be use to seeing human beings on that angle. This is such an awesome concept though!! *huggles*
Hehe so cute! I love kitties! X3 Honestly I like the expression on the face, and the shading is great. I myself if I drew it, I would probably add even more perspective to his feet and tail and such (but that's probably just my style.. ) I can't really think of any really great or helpful critique.. I just think this looks cool. ^^
