Gah, this is awesome! Wonderful job on all the little details. Those knots in the background must have taken ages... Gorgeous and highly impressive job on this, I have to fav it. ^_^
    • Aug 25, 2007, 5:45:52 AM UTC
Thank you so very much for the fav! I'm happy you like the background as it drove absolutely bonkers when I did the knot work.

HOLY CRAP, how did I miss this?! I must have been on vacation. >< I think I need a towel, cause I just had an accident after looking at this. xD It's so beautiful, I want to cry...or I may just crap my pants again, I'm not sure. Love it though! Favorite

  • Jul 12, 2006, 6:40:03 AM UTC
This is totally CRAZY! Big Smile I love this work. You made each texture look so real and put in astounding detail in his outfit and the knots behind. Just totally awesome in every way.
    • Jul 13, 2006, 1:42:02 PM UTC
Thank you! I'm very happy that people seem to like it as I was feeling very self conscience about this one.
      • Jul 13, 2006, 3:20:30 PM UTC
Dude, I have no idea why you were worrying. This is freaking awesome! It is seriously an amazing drawing. Definitely one of the best on the site if not in a wider spectrum. Amazing job! Big Smile Big Smile
        • Jul 13, 2006, 8:49:41 PM UTC
Thank you again. I've been told before that i've got a confidence problem (about my art anyways).
  • Jul 10, 2006, 11:02:41 AM UTC
    This is increnible...
You drawn it by pencil? rait?
    awsome... realy
    • Jul 13, 2006, 1:40:31 PM UTC
Thanks! And the whole thing is drawn in pencil. A lot of pencils.
  • Jul 2, 2006, 6:43:48 AM UTC
Very cool! I like the details.
  • Jul 2, 2006, 2:06:11 AM UTC
It came out beautifully!Big Smile I love it! Especially the knotwork.Favorite I'm assuming you used two types of pencils for the darker and the brighter areas right? One thing, shouldn't the stairs be shaded more at the back? I just think so because the wall is so dark. Scratching Head Anywho excellent work.Thumbs Up
    • Jul 3, 2006, 4:39:09 AM UTC
Thank you and you hit it right on the nose with your assumption about the pencils. I used 2B and HB pencils for this one and I don't quite remember but I think I also used a 3B. As for the steps 'well i'll be'!

It just irks me sometimes when I finish something and then notice what I did wrong...harumph!! Its also too late to fix it since the drawing's sprayed already. Well I guess this is one of those live and learn experiences.
      • Jul 6, 2006, 5:46:22 AM UTC
Happens to me alot,Grin but then I don't always feel like going back and fixing whatever there was wrong with it or it's just impossible. No
  • Jul 1, 2006, 5:36:45 PM UTC
It's finally finished! Kyaa! It looks great, Dennis!!! Hug Go rest up now. You need it after all the work you put into this baby. Laughing Favorite Excellent work.
    • Jul 1, 2006, 9:54:04 PM UTC
Thanks, I will get some rest and thank you for following the progress on this one.
      • Jul 2, 2006, 6:16:09 PM UTC
:3 Good. And you're very welcome. It was fun watching a piece of your art slowly come together. Always waiting, and wondering, "What will he do next?!" Then seeing it, and always thinking, "Uwaaah! If I could draw like that...*siiiigh* One of these days." You're an inspiration. ^.^ Truely. (Okay, I'm done kissing ass now. Laughing But I really mean everything I said.)
        • Jul 6, 2006, 7:25:35 PM UTC
Thank you... you just gave me one of the best comments i've had in awhile.
          • Jul 12, 2006, 7:35:33 PM UTC

I cannot express how relieved I am that you like the finished piece, honest. I cannot tell you how many times I looked at it and said to myself, I hope she likes it. Anyways thanks for waiting so patiently. Enjoy my good friend. If you need a high res version just let me know.
      • Jul 2, 2006, 8:39:17 AM UTC
I can't believe you were so insecure about something so incredibly beautiful! Silly man! Hug If you have a high res version available, and you have a moment to e-mail it to me, it would be greatly appreciated. I think I'm going to get it framed. Smile

Did I ever send you your high-res version of Roth?

        Heart
        • Jul 6, 2006, 7:21:04 PM UTC
Ok Robin, i'll send you the high res today. Enjoy.
  • Jul 1, 2006, 7:42:03 AM UTC
Wow you finished it! Stellar work! How many pencils did you go through for this one?
    • Jul 1, 2006, 9:51:50 PM UTC
LOL!! Honestly I had gone through 4 2B and 2 hb pencils. How'd you know????!!!
      • Jul 2, 2006, 6:49:04 AM UTC
Giggle I could tell by looking at the picture. What kind of paper do you draw on? it must be something pretty thick so it doesn't curl right?
        • Jul 2, 2006, 5:19:37 PM UTC
Once again you amaze me with just your technical knowledge of art. Its like reverse engineering artwork in my opinion which is something way too difficult for me. Anyways I used 100ib. smooth bristol. Thanks for asking.
          • Jul 3, 2006, 7:54:42 AM UTC
lol i just know from experience. I used to use colored pencils all the time and the paper always curled. If I used the standard bristol that came in a pad it would still warp.
  • Jul 1, 2006, 7:31:25 AM UTC
Wow! It is finally done!! Lloyd this looks awesome. The textures in this make this look so real. It is like I can reach out and touch it. You have always had this awesome look to your art. It is nice to see you post something!! This looks awesome I am gonna have to fav. this. You did a great job keep it up hopefully soon we will see more of your art!! Big Smile
    • Jul 6, 2006, 7:23:24 PM UTC
Thanks Mal. This took so long and i'm so glad its finished. Hopefully i'll be a lot more prolific than I have been lately.
  • Jul 1, 2006, 2:16:58 AM UTC
    yeeey!you finished it!!
    awsome...
now tell me how much time it too you alltogather...ages i presume...well that would be for me..maybe youre a quick artist..
    • Jul 2, 2006, 9:44:12 AM UTC
A quick artist me? LOL maybe at one time but lately i've been like a slug or rather I haven't had any time so its like my drawings progress at a snails pace. if i'm lucky I can squeeze in maybe 4 hours of drawing time every 2 weeks. I had begun this drawing about 10 months ago as an art-trade and I had just finished it. Life just seems to get in the way. lol.....
  • Jun 30, 2006, 11:52:25 PM UTC
