i think the lights need to be lighter and the darks darker- other than that it's sweet

Well... for anime, it's about norm, but for wht I think you're trying to acheive, I think it's too flat. The light is in all the wrong places, and although it looks seperated, it doesn't look like the light cares much about that fact.

See, at the moment, the light is brightest around the side s of the head- for them to be bright, the top has to be. Your halo is best a bit away from he part line for a generic light source- above. my second thought is that the high seems to go in a straight line rather than zigzags, which the hair does cause it has diferent layers for all the strands. In flat anime hair, a glow like this is ok, caue it looks like a flat plane. Here, you have seperation, so it looks... glossy. Not 3D

Note in the above picture of Cloud (an anime example) although his hair is blocked, it's seperated (like yours), but each of the strands of hair seem to have a sorce of light, and they're all differnt strengths- hair does this. Even a random zig zag looks great on hair like this. That's my 2 cents...

    I like it so far.
Maybe add a couple more dark strokes for contrast especially around the ear and the base of the hair.

    Yup it's cummin along nicely!
