Saiyajin Attire

This drawing represents two concept outfits for something a Saiyajin would wear. I may do more since I feel these don't really accurately describe what a Saiyajin would want to wear, especially given the colors, Vejiita looks like some sort of fruit salad on the right. I was going for vibrant colors that stood out and really smashed your senses in the face, and in the end, I was lucky I didn't give him bright pink mixed with lavenderGAY, if that IS a color, however the Vejiita on the left turned out better, because I was thinking more about it being darker and less completely fruitty, but in the end, wtf are those colors on his belt straps? Blue and GREEN? Oh...k right I didn't stray far from the fruit cup there.

If you have any curiosity at all there was a great deal of thought put into the color scheme, yellow and blue and red being triad colorations that go well within close proximity of each other, red and green being complimentary, and blue and brown being complimentary to each other. Along with that a great deal of blending to bring out a tonal affect.

Unfortunately my colored pencils didn't agree with my scheme.

The olive green on the upper pockets of his thighs are the wrong color, and I blame that entirely on the Gallery Pencil set, it easily has got to be the worst for matching up colors with what you place on the paper in the entire history of the creation of colored art. I recommend if anyone sees these, to steer clear, at all costs. The backing of the pencil has a strip that goes around it that shows the color that would come from the tip, only nine times out of ten, it's not the right color at ALL. I was fooled when I colored the olive strips on his upper thighs, when I chose the color for his boots, and also for the sash crossing over his hips that just doesn't seem the right color. If those three don't fit, you now know why.

And I know that the Vejiita in the left side to the background's face looks kind of strange, that's because I accidentally dragged the ear down far too back, I didn't realize my mistake until two seconds AFTER I inked it in, it was a rather quick practice though so I didn't really care, along with that I also completely screwed up the shading on Vejiita's face, if you notice, everywhere else the shading is falling from the left side at an angle aimed down Vejiita's side, but his face and hair is completely different, why you ask? I started coloring it in at my lunch at work and wasn't paying attention at all, probably because I had to get up at four thirty that morning to get to work on time at five, yeah, fun fun fun.

If you find anything else, absurd, with this drawing to critique me on please feel free ^_^! Oh and btw I may make some more of these with more of a Saiyajin touch, these are just too, queer and vibrant to really get that feral down and dirty feel I would think a Saiyajin society would be more suited to wear lol xD. By the end of this practice, it was more about making Vejiita look pretty than anything else, I didn't even care about if it was in character or not lol.

Lessons learned:

Saiyajins are not into Hot Topic and don't like gay ass colors.

yes the colors are too much happy sunshine and the style is too.. I don't want to say.. But I can't see Veg. wearing it, something darkewr and meaner with leather and metal studs, like some freaky dominatrix would be more appropo, I think. But i really like your style and the general look of how you drew them, i think he looks so kawaii. I think Bulma would look really hot in these outfits actually.

Thank you for the comment and I think Bulma would probably look really hot in them too only she couldn't really wear the uniform on the right haha, not very.. "supportive?" shall we say? x.X!

Thanks for the last part of your comment and I appreciate your generosity and honesty on the subject ^_^

I really like the one on the left, especially his hair! I LOVE that you put the red it. I also like that the shapes are hard and don't blend into one another. Wonderful! ^__^

Lol thanks for the critique, you have a very playful way of bringing about your compliments and i'm happy that you enjoyed the pic as much as I did making it despite my problems XD

I like your style of drawing. It's unique. I really like the way you've done Vegeta's hair but I don't like the way his eyes are drawn. If you don't like the colors, you can always have someone quickly adjust it in Photoshop for you if you don't have Photoshop. It'll take like 30 seconds.

I knew you could use Photoshop to change Hues in colors, but what I don't know is how to change just certain aspects of a picture, like the little stuff, I only know how to change the colors of the whole of the picture and I don't wanna at all! XD If I knew how to change small parts then I would have used Photoshop on it a while back, as it is though I don't want to use a digital enhancement with a traditional art unless it's completely seperate from the Traditional art because there's no way you can get that grainy affect in a digital surface so if I changed the color of his olive pockets to the right color, even on a seperate layer, it would look really out of place.

I don't really like his eyes either ^^!

Actually, if you select an area with the laso tool and then use the "adjust hue" feature, you can keep the grainy effect and still change the color. YOu can also adjust the saturation and darkness. It will still look traditional after all of that.

Whoa lol XD Awesome, I so didn't know that, thanks for the tip XD!

no prob. If you do get a chance to change the colors, I'd like to see the revised picture.
