Inuyasha with Tetsusaiga

Posted May 20, 2005, 5:29:56 PM UTC
This one was easier to draw than I thought it would be. I must pat myself on the back for the colors. I think they came out good. I hope you guys like it.

Very nicely done! You have captured InuYasha so magnificantly! Great work! Smile
  • May 23, 2006, 9:39:52 PM UTC
    Damn thats pretty right on
    • May 24, 2006, 10:26:50 AM UTC
Thanks. I am a huge fan of the Inuyasha series and so that is what most of my anime fanart is. I wanted to try and do something creative to the background because I usually just leave them blank because I completely suck at backgrounds. Laughing So I did the little swirly thing. I think it plays off very nicely. Smile Thanks again hun. Hug

thats a really good job you did on InuYasha.
  • Sep 29, 2005, 12:06:37 AM UTC
Oh, Kristy you're a real Inuyasha expert, I envy!Cry Oh well, practice, practice, practice is what I need.
Well done once again. One thing, you could make the sword look more shiny with PS or something.
Nonetheless gr8 pic, andI love how you did his hair and the clothes folds.
    • Sep 29, 2005, 9:38:55 AM UTC
O.O You envy ME? *jaw hits floor* Honey... if anyone should envy anyone, it should be I envying you. You have so much talent and I love that you give the characters your very own "style." That is what sets your drawings apart from all of the rest. Anywhoo, I really suck big time at using PS. >_< I really am no good with it at all which is why I just color my drawings the old fashioned way...with colored pencils and markers. ^^ Besides, I really love to color with my Pentel color pens. The colors are so smooth and vibrant. Thank you so very much for the amazing compliment hun. It is greatly appreciated as always. All my love.
      • Sep 29, 2005, 10:33:18 AM UTC
Ooo, thank you so much for your compliments. ^^
The reason I draw the way I do is that I wasn't copying any pics. Or even when I was, what came out stil looked different. I do have some ideas from the Inuyasha show, like in Choice of the Heart. But still things don't always work if I don't plan it on paper first. I don't do that I get stuck without background, and things like that.

But I still love your drawings. And don't you say they're bad. And don't be afraid to try new things in your work.
        ^^ Love ya!
        • Sep 29, 2005, 9:16:11 PM UTC
Well I absolutely ADORE your style. It is always wonderful to see artists put their own "spin" on these beloved characters. And the way you do it is so beautiful and subtle, but enough to know that you are an amazingly gifted young artist with her own style. ^^ And I am not afraid to try new things. I have stopped doing anime for a while (well except for the Vash pic that I drew for Chris) and I have been concentrating mostly on more realistc pictures. I have tons on the red curtain. Laughing Go figure, eh? Love ya back hun. Wink Mwah!
          • Oct 2, 2005, 6:44:28 AM UTC
I can't wait to see new works from you dear.^^ And I did see the red curtain pics and read your story too, but I'll comment on it there . Say, could you give me your email adress? I want to send you something, but I can't post it here because the media section was closed. Oh Ido see a new pic, yay!^^

    • Jul 19, 2005, 1:04:44 AM UTC
Why thank you sweetie. I loved Inuyasha in this pose. I regret that I didn't make it a wee bit smaller so I could fit the whole Tetsusaiga on the page, but oh well. At least Inuyasha turned out pretty good. Thank you so much for the kind review, luv.
      • Jul 19, 2005, 11:08:15 AM UTC
Yeah maybe you should have made it a but smaller but the tetsusaiga is so big that is u were to draw it all then inuaysha waould be ki9nda small dont u think? i like the size n everything
  • Jul 14, 2005, 4:56:51 PM UTC
You did a really fantastic job here as well. That is totally Inuyasha just as he should be.
  • Jul 14, 2005, 4:14:06 PM UTC
yes, yes that was silly. I agree with what Karana Kaou said, I don't want to make Vegeta look exactly like he does in the anime, I want to have my own way to draw him that I like. Like Bogus Red has her way of drawing Vegeta. Just don't worry about it, I wouldn't. You responded like a mature, rational person, whereas someone like (me) would just say "No shit, Sherlock." and leave it at that.
    • Jul 14, 2005, 6:29:23 PM UTC
*laughs* Thank you so much for all of your support, Kichi. I do try to put my own style into these characters instead of just completly copying them line for line. What would be the point of that? The point is that I do my best and of course they are not going to come out looking exactly like the originals and that person was just being dumb for thinking that it would have to to be any good, you know? Thank you so much.
  • Jul 13, 2005, 4:50:13 PM UTC
    nice job!
    • Jul 13, 2005, 7:21:47 PM UTC
Thanks, hun. I am so glad that you like it. Did you see the really mean review that I got on this one? You should read it. It was not nice. *pouts* They said that the anime and the mangas looked better. Well, no sh*t! They are the originals, hello! Sorry. had to vent a bit. I'm cool now.
  • Jul 5, 2005, 1:59:31 PM UTC
Hmm...I just read through the last comment on here...What a strange thing to say. We as artists don't strive to be exactly like the artists we are immitating, we're simply applying our talent to a character we've found some kind of link to. Well, no matter, you handled the situation very well and I respect you for that. Besides, I love this drawing. Tongue
    • Jul 5, 2005, 2:05:15 PM UTC
Thanks, hun. I don't know why some people have to get pleasure from trying to bring others down. I don't try to let things like that get me down. It is their opinion and I can't change it and I don't expect to. As long as I keep trying to improve, that's all that matters, right? And since when has it been considered a bad thing to put our own little touches on the characters? Oh well. You win some, you lose some. If you think this one is bad, you should read the one I just got on my SS4 Vegeta pic. That was a really mean one. Luckily, MiniMaid told them off for me. She is so great. ^_^
  • Jun 28, 2005, 1:08:37 PM UTC
it is good, but it is not good as the pictures from the shows and anime.
    • Jun 28, 2005, 2:39:22 PM UTC
I know. And I don't ever think I will ever be able to fully replicate the characters like Rumiko Takahashi or VIZ. But, I do my best and try to get better every day. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment about it. It is through feed-back that I develop the most.
  • Jun 21, 2005, 4:12:06 AM UTC
Love it! I've discovered Inuyasha recently, he remind me of vegeta a bit. Anywho, back to the drawing, it's very nice ,the different coor tones are nicely done, they blend perfectly with the the drawing! Good job Lady!
    • Jun 21, 2005, 10:45:46 AM UTC
Thank you my dear. Just wait until you see his brother Sesshomaru. *drools rediculously* If he weren't animated I would, um, nevermind. I think Sesshomaru reminds me more of Vegeta though. They both try to act so cruel and tough, but inside you can tell they have alot going on. They are like those chocolate candy bars with the squishy marshmallow filling.
      • Jun 21, 2005, 1:20:01 PM UTC
lol! Sesshomaru is handsome, but i have to admit i prefer Inuyasha. Sesshy, is a bit too calm and...well can't find the right english word for what am thinking, in french it would be 'intravertie' , like he keeps everything inside. In that way you are right, Sesshomaru is more like Vegeta than Inuyasha! Don't you like guys with white hair...(drools)...Thats why i loved Magneto so much (in the comic world mind you, in the movie...i dont know Ian Mckellen is not my type hehehe)

        Lis
        • Jun 21, 2005, 1:53:11 PM UTC
I do love white-haired guys. Isn't that weird? Actually, I am such a little devil that I love all kinds of guys. Sesshy is very concealed. I would definately love to help break him out of that shell. Oops, Got to keep this G rated. Damn!
          • Jun 21, 2005, 3:06:58 PM UTC
lol, i have a pic that'll make you drool, i dunno why i never thought of posting it. As soon as i find it i'll post it: It's of Magneto in the "age of apocalypse "saga...Very yummy!
I have a thing for guys like Vegeta, Inuyasha...i always fall for a brute , very strong looking guy, with a golden heart...awwwwwww...im so mushy!
            • Jun 21, 2005, 8:31:06 PM UTC
Yeah, but mushy is good. I am mushy too. I tend to fall for guys that are really deep and have alot going on inside their minds. I'm crazy like that. Plus I love to laugh so a sense of humor is a must. Hold on a minute, this is starting to sound alot like a personals ad. >_< I hope you find the Magneto picture. I'd really like to see it.
              • Jun 22, 2005, 9:26:43 AM UTC
                Hello LadyAnime,
I hadn't had the time to search for the Magneto pic, i'll kick my butt and do it (i'm so lazy when i finish work that i do nothing once i'm home) There's a big holiday in Québec friday so i'll have more time to draw, search and post!

Oh me too, i can't see a day pass without having laugh out loud at least once. It's very important to me to have someone in my life who can make me laugh as much as i can make people laugh. In that regard im lucky my b\f is such a clown...awwwwww...(turning into mushygoo)...anywho... So yur personnal ad, what are you searching for exactly Wink (kidding)

I will finish this one in a PM so I don't crowd your critique page with my maniacal babble. Wink

You sound just like me. That's why I joined this site in the first place. I'm obsessed with art in general. And believe me, the artists never get tired of the positive critiques. Can we expect any fanart from you in the future?

What are your drawings of? Mine are mostly Inuyasha and other anime. I 'm trying to broaden my horizons andcreate my own original characters.

Nothing wrong with being a spoiled brat. You're a girl who likes to get what she wants. I admire that. lol

                                • May 28, 2005, 4:17:07 PM UTC
Sounds familiar. I'm the only one in my family (besides my 11-year-old niece) who gets into anime or any art for that matter.
  • May 22, 2005, 9:59:23 PM UTC
    It came out very good.
    • May 23, 2005, 9:39:17 AM UTC
Thank you, Dennis. It means alot coming from someone of your artistic stature. I absolutely love your artistic style and I agree that we learn best from the constructive criticism we get. It's how I learn and grow as an artist. I find anime pretty easy to do with the bold outlines and what not. But, the kind of stuff you do is, in a word, amazing! I would love to become that good. I guess I'm still looking for my unique style. Thank you so much for taking the time to review my picture. I love getting reviews. It lets me know that I've still got "it" as an artist. If I ever lost that spark that every artist feels, I'd truly be lost. Keep up the great work on your art and don't ever let your flame go out.
  • May 21, 2005, 9:02:30 PM UTC
Very awesome! I love this show. I really like the coloring on this! His red cloak looks really great. The background looks neat too, I like all the little swirlies...it kind of looks like clouds or mist to me. good job!
    • May 22, 2005, 11:01:48 AM UTC
Thank you so much. I tried to do something in the BG so it wouldn't just be plain, and I thought the swirls were pretty true to something Rumiko would do. Would you believe that my hair is as red as his kimono? I like it that way. It gives me character.*smiles* I am really pleased with how this one came out. I think his nose could use a tiny bit of work, but, oh well. I used a bit of the pointalism technique to shade in the darker areas of his kimono. I felt it would give him a little added texture. He's so hot...
  • May 20, 2005, 6:16:39 PM UTC
Ja, I like the inuyasha pic too, a good pose with his tetsusaiga to the ground, Very good XD background looks good too
    • May 20, 2005, 7:01:25 PM UTC
Ooooh, thank you, thank you, thank you. I HATE doing back grounds! I'm no good at them. That's why most of my pics don't usually have a bg. I just get tired of having it plain. Oh, well. I guess if the main art on the page looks okay, then I guess it's fine. I still have to put this on theotaku. Better get to that. By the way, is your Mario story posted on this site? I'd like to read it.
      • May 20, 2005, 7:19:00 PM UTC
Ya, I typed my first chapter to my story today, so you should find it under the new stories section here. Ill type more of it later though, busy busy rest of weekend, may get to it tuesday though, dunno
  • May 20, 2005, 11:42:36 AM UTC
This is a pretty good drawing Big Smile
    • May 20, 2005, 4:02:34 PM UTC
Thanks, BogusRed. It's one of my better ones. I also made a feeble attempt to spice up the back ground a little bit. I really hate doing back grounds.
      • May 20, 2005, 4:34:23 PM UTC
Yeah most people hate doing backgrounds.
        • May 20, 2005, 7:02:30 PM UTC
Yeah, but you do them very well. *hangs head in shame* You should be very proud of your work.
          • May 20, 2005, 7:04:11 PM UTC
If you have photoshop, you can just put in some quick airbrush strokes or gradients to make your work look less plain. Don't go overboard with it. You don't want the background to distract the viewer from the main drawing. Smile
            • May 20, 2005, 7:07:43 PM UTC
Thank you so much for the advice. I do have the photoshop on my computer (thank God!). I will try to teach myself how to use it effectively this weekend maybe. There are just some things I can't do. lol
              • May 20, 2005, 7:09:26 PM UTC
Photoshop has soooo many features to it that it can be really hard to find your way around. I hope you don't get too discouraged. There are a bunch of free online tutorials out there.
                • May 20, 2005, 7:12:49 PM UTC
Good. I will definately probably need to look at the tutorials, because I'm so computer-dumb. I know how to do the basics and that's about it. Thank you so much for all of your help all the time. I'd be so lost right now if it wasn't for your help.
